I guess the grid size is the cost of making the game more realistic. Probably another reason why the small amount of liveries. PC2 would average about 24-30 liveries per car. A handful would be the real liveries of maybe 3 or 4 for cars like the Silhouette Skyline, Group C and Vintage Z cars.

Game looks so good, but I almost don't want to go backwards in grid size. Being spoiled with PC2 and a hopeful promise of GT7 grid size growing. Dagnabbit, man...

Fr. I'm so tired of reading "you should buy a pc". I thought this was going to be the day we will get rid of that f gatekeeping.

I'm so disappointed.

So I see one of the criticisms of the game is that there are only 16 cars in single player on the grid? Which means that cars in multiclass races would be randomised, I presume?

They are going all in on Ian Bell on Reddit. I was not a finished product but to hear some folks on Reddit it's like the worst game since Concord. That may be a bit of hyperbole but it is probably not far from the truth. It' a shame I was so wanting to try out the Panoz at Sebring. This is definitely a wait to buy.

I'll let you know how it is 😁

Why can't you still try the Panoz at Sebring? Most gamers should really know that racing games nowadays never release in a totally fit state of play. They all go through a zillion updates and patches before people calm down and accept them. Look at Forza, GT, Test Drive, EA WRC etc.

It's frustrating because there are 10 GT4 manufacturers and it's going to be crazily unbalanced evening the spread of cars.
So, if let's say you pick multiclass racing and for example your car is a Porsche 963, would that mean you would have 3 random Lmdh cars to race against plus random GT4 and GT3 cars on the grid?

We'll have to see about Multi-class. A WEC grid would be balanced with 8 LMDH and 8 (LM)GT3.

I'm saying for GT4, that could be only 1 or two cars per brand and 4 cars would be only one car. For a game that's being realistic, that's unrealistic.

That only works for classes in real life that have low numbers in certain regions on the planet.

Australia used to have low numbers for GT4 and GT3, but not any longer. Fields of 28-30 are the new norm.

Two classes would be balanced but you have no control over what cars are in the race

Graphics on ps5 don't look too good. To be expected, but still disappointing to see such a downgrade compared to pc.

Consoles will always be a little bit behind PC. That said I haven't been too disappointed with what I've seen from the console gameplay. I was actually surprised that it looked a lot more solid and stable than PC. Not as pretty sure, but working.

I heard that there is no free run is this true?

Taking a car to any track and doing hot laps is one of my favorite things to do.

I've seen plenty of videos of what seems to be a few run mode, MotoGames TV and a few others have definitely been recording from what appears to be a free run mode.

Maxim stream looked awful, but I've seen others that it looked good.

Hmm. I tentatively got on the hype train, now I’m kinda weighing up whether to sneak off at the next stop. I haven’t pressed the emergency brake yet, but I’m fully prepared to vault the ticket barriers and run for my life if needed. I think I’ve milked that analogy dry now.

I’m kinda glad I haven’t pre-ordered this yet at the moment, but it still has time to win me over.

They’re using the Youtubers as last minute quality control. That’ll go down well.

Being serious it’s pretty bad marketing to send out review codes in this state. Very poor first impressions they’re giving for a lot of people, and those people will never read all these Discord posts promising fixes.

I wouldn't mind Early Access the way AC Evo did. I'm not really too upset that it's not complete because I didn't expect it to be but it would have been nice if they did call it early access and maybe take $10 off or something like that.

Whelp, I've been hanging out in the discord for a while, they shutdown any discussion related to the lack of radar, the win requirement for opening up MP options, and anything else particularly divisive. I guess they'll have to get the practice in shutting down discourse if the game is being released half baked.

This really disappoints me and it points to a bigger problem in the world in general. Instead of just shutting down negative talk, is it open discourse. Man, I really wish I was a developer. I would simply say, "we noticed that too and we're glad you brought it up and it's something that we're going to continue working on". I don't understand why that's so difficult.

They banned me because I called them out on trueforce support. They 100% try to avoid answering any questions that make them look bad and answer the rest but in a way that’s “don’t worry we’re working around the clock to fix that”.

Banning people is a little tricky. When somebody gets personal or political or is clearly raging without facts, they should be banned.

However, if a person is pointing out things that are obvious and doing it in a reasonable way, the receiver of that information will always be better off for continuing the conversation as long as nobody is insulting each other.

I've supported these guys and I gave them a lot of money up front and I'm probably going to enjoy the game, but I am disappointed in the manner in which they are interacting with the community.

Whatever happened to working together to make a better racing game?

No point pre ordering anything, let the people with FOMO get it day one and see what they think of it.

In the age of the internet you can find out what the game is really like after the standard day one patch, buy it, download it and be playing it on release day without needing to pre order it.

Better yet wait a year and pick up the complete edition with all DLC and a fully patched game but this option is easier said than done lol

There's a fine line to be walked in the Discord. The way some people are bringing things up is clearly intending to just be inflammatory and a lot of people have then attacked the Devs who, in my opinion, bravely put themselves on the Discord to talk about the issues. They don't have to do that but they are.

They definitely responded to the radar chat and said it's obviously something that they will work on as there's demand for it. The people who then respond to that by attacking the developers are then an issue.

I don't think their interactions are disappointing personally, the alternative is that individual developers just wouldn't communicate with us and we'd get a media/social media/community guy just fronting it and that be that, 'pass on the feedback' type thing.

Well, there you have it. Instead of calmly reporting what they're experiencing, it's way too common for people to just go straight to attack mode.

Understood

I'm glad that you're over there.

And, I completely agree with banning people who are hostile and not productive.

Graphics looked iffy on the console streams. Hopefully it was just the stream settings. My pre-order was for PC, so I might fare worse based on all the other pre-release streams. Damn. I knew it would be a gamble.

Catching up, must say I am a bit worried.
Watching the one and only Gamermuscle, not looking good.
ISR had issues with FFB on PS 5 ( Logitech )

No doubt the game will be good, after 2-3 patches.
