It doesn't seem to be happening like this on PC, only console. I'd imagine hence the dismissal and mixed feedback - half the populace tried it and it was fine, and the other half are driving on the wrong tyre settings.
The devs were pretty immediate in gathering feedback.

Bell is his own beast doing and saying whatever, and I'd imagine many devs would rather he said nothing.

I understand that and I can also understand they could have overlooked something. But instead of checking first, they went with the "let's question his credibility" strategy instead.

It's a bad look regardless of any angle you choose to look at it.

Not to mention that it hurts their claim that all versions are using the same code/physics. That's clearly not the case.

It is also worrying that now the LMDh are going through very fundamental changes. Didn't they have feedback from these same vets before? Did they ignore it?

I tested the LMDh tyre theory, and it's bang on. The dry tyres are bugged, this video is me trying to drive the GR010 on Sao Paulo. First portion is trying to lap on warm, soft tyres, note how much input is needed for small turns and how much the car drifts in the esses. Then I switch to the wets and go straight from the pits, I am able to push, the car has grip and doesn't want to pivot drift.

I saw another video on that this morning. I'm not going to run those cars on wets in the dry just to drive them. I'll wait for a possible fix before going back. I've got other games to run those cars in.

This game needs a test session where you can just take a car out on track solo. You don't have to use a practice session for a race weekend, just a test run.

One thing I didn't mention last night was that in the virtual rearview mirror the cars look squashed down and the perspective is off to me. "Things may be closer than they appear" applies I think. I might try either turning it off if possible or moving it around.

Logitech pro wheel for me. Wheel jerks heavily to the right and left constantly, even on straights. Also in the menus the wheel will jerk left and right, sometimes violently.

Anyone else getting this and have a recommendation? It's unplayable this way

I was worried about the FFB. I'm on a Podium DD1 and I had zero issues even with the default settings it loaded when it recognized the base. I think the wheel optimization is just incredibly inconsistent. I get none of the FFB issues and haven't had to play around with it. Looks like Logitech users in particular are getting the worst issues.

I own an A110. The engine and gear changes sound nothing like that. Not even close. I can't pinpoint the exact car but I swear they recycled a random 4 banger from the pcars days for this.

I thought this and the viper almost sounded the same? I’m just on my phone right now though.

It's very strange because in Donington the downhill section looked very flat and lacked detail, while on the uphill section, the sun was at an angle, setting, and it looked beautiful. I'm not someone who suffers with a game that has bad graphics, especially in a racing game where you're only focused on what's happening on the track and little else. Graphically, for me, it's just adequate. I played PC2 on console relatively recently, and I get the feeling they're pretty much on par.

Crazy that a game that old is on par with this release. Must be some insanely killer physics in PMR then…

There's a fine line between fair criticism and disappointment and abuse/insults and some of the comments in this thread recently are starting to tread the wrong side of the line.

Well it’s bound to happen when you over promise and under deliver which by the sounds of it, that’s what happened. It’s especially bound to happen when those people have paid money for it. My “rudeness” is a mirror of their rudeness and not just to me but stuff I’ve read and seen in social media. I would feel differently if they had replied to a lot of comments differently.

This sounds like how my wheel felt in PC2 which isn’t officially supported. Idk. Maybe this game is pretty much PC2 again? Could it be some kind of port into the giants engine? Why are the graphics on par with PC2 that game is quite old now?

I am enjoying it. I posted this on the forum but first impressions are good for me on PS5.

I received my copy on PS5, I was expecting it to be very twitchy like PC2 on the controller after reading all the comments but I only adjusted a few settings and it is very good for me on the handling, haptic triggers work and you can feel all the car grip and the kerbs and can comfortably get round the track. I notice if you knock another car or a wall the steering may pull to the left etc so that is what some people might be experiencing but I think this is the damage of the car.

I also started slow with MX-5 and lapped and lapped Lime Rock Park, It has nice and smooth gameplay and the graphics are not bad on PS5 especially Autumn/Winter on my 4k TV. I only had time to practice with a few cars with tyres already warmed up (setting on). MX-5, Carrera but I really enjoyed lapping Lime Rock Park and Derby and you hear the engine pull right to the redline, audio is fantastic on each car. So I am looking forward to testing these out later again. Overall very happy and I know with mods and updates it will get better. I really am struggling to see where all this negativity of the game is coming from.

I was hoping I could just get in a car and either drive or do minimal tweaks like ACC and not go through the nightmare of making the cars driveable like the old PCars games but I have a bad feeling it won't be that way.

The thought has occurred to me that, speaking as a British man, we may have misunderstood something fundamental.

I've got a project car, a project extension, a garden project, a garage project, an office project, and a loft project.

All of them are brilliant. None of them are finished, nor likely ever will be.

With the stock settings, any GT3 car veers to the left if I even slightly touch the brake. But it could be a problem with the Fanatec wheel because in the FFB menu, if I touch the brake, sometimes the steering wheel rotation slider moves.

Could be a Fanatec issue, I haven't had that experience on my Thrustmaster.

Been at it for a couple of hours now and I’m actually pleasantly surprised at how it feels.
Took a M3 around the Nurburgring and obviously twitchy on cold tyres but once up to temps it drove superbly, no settings changed just straight out of the box. FFB felt sure and steady.
Currently trying to get into online ranked multiplayer by doing the MX5 challenge and it’s a challenge alright, currently 6 seconds off the required time, Lime Rock Park looks really nice, a lot nicer looking than the Green hell, and speaking of looks, it’s not going to win any awards and as I drive in cockpit cam the mirrors are seriously PS1 bad, but to be honest it’s a minor quibble as the driving as very good so far for me. Not tried any other classes yet so I’m aware there could be issues there but as of right now I’m actually enjoying it👍

I’ve just had such a good race on Forza. Look how close the lap times are. The Ai can be good but also,it can be quite bad.Why can’t anyone make good Ai in 2025.
Also how come FH graphics look so good and it’s an open world game. I know they have a bigger budget but surely PMR could have looked much better than this. Only 15 Ai and the track to concentrate on

Could be a Fanatec issue, I haven't had that experience on my Thrustmaster.

In the statement PMR released yesterday, they said there were problems with PS5 peripherals, so that might be it. I'm not having any problems with my other games.

Yeah, does seem to be only specific peripherals, Logitech and Fanatec seem to have had it worst.

On a side note of specific issues, the Xbox version not launching issue has been identified as being affected by, ahem, custom or older Xbox avatars.

Yep, you read that right. So those with the Xbox not launching issue, change your avatar for now or wait for the patch.

Maybe just simplified physics, simplified behavor for AI and much more ressources and dev time
I rather have OK graphics with much deeper physic simulation and good FFB than great graphics
