Lots of participation in the MX5 ranked races tonight, and the top spots were incredibly close, except for a Ukrainian PC player who was flying. It's a shame I finished second, but the race froze at the end and I had to close the game. I don't remember it from PC2, but in PMR tonight it was full of Americans, Brits, and a couple of Australians with incredibly high ping who were practically teleporting around the track.

AI seems a bit better in terms of awareness, and off tracks are handled differently (better but not yet ok)

When I initially played, Ispectated straight away in Practice. When I tried for Qualifying, one of the 718s made a u-turn in the pits and went the wrong way down the pits. I couldn’t spectate and couldn’t change my own view when I clicked my car.
 
There are a few cars in this game with the wrong sound. The Mazda 787B sounds like a 3 rotor, the M4 GT3 and GT4 cars sound like a Porsche flat 6 and the Vantage GTE doesn't sound like a twin-turbo V8 from Mercedes AMG. In fact it sounds like the Vantage GT4 from the first Project Cars...😬 A bit disappointing to be honest.
 
I’m slightly not impressed with the RX-7 GTO. I took my time, but the car wallows. I’m constantly micro correcting the steering. Feels like a boat in the front.

Tried the Elise and really wanted to like it, but I’ll stay in my lane with GT4 and below. The V8 Supercars should be pretty good as they’re unique ith a modern car, but old school touring car handling.
I did like the 787B though. Pulling third gear with the revs rising, I knew I was moving then!

964 Trophy race weekend time. Hope it doesn’t disappoint.

Great news, and lot of good stuff ! sadly thrustmaster wheels still have a broken FFB (TGT2) I hope it will be fixed soon

Same with my FANATEC DD PRO on PS5: the FFB motor is a little notchy with many vibrations (even on the settings menu, out of the races).
 
Enjoying the game this morning, testing lots of cars.
I've noticed if you disable qualifying you still start the race depending on how well you've done in practice, which makes qualy a little pointless; and the lack of on screen starting lights doesn't matter now because you get a nice little countdown to race starts up in the top left UI element. I'd rather have the lights though.
Also can someone check they can still toggle penalties on/off? I seem to have forgotten where to find this option.
 
2 patches in 4 days is positive, they must've worked hard tbf.
I hope skyboxes get fixed at some point, it’s quite jarring having a realistic cockpit and decent tracks but then such poor sky.

Plus the fact that in heavy rain there is still blue sky and few white clouds, if it's meant to be like that it’s a strange design choice.
 
Couple more hours this morning on the pad (no settings adjustments as the game doesn't tell you what they do). Today with the GT4 Nissan Z. Much, much more planted than the MX5 I've been using so far. Anyone new to the game on pad, I'd recommend starting with a GT4, despite the MX5 being the more obvious 'entry level' option. The Z feels heavy and 'real', whereas the MX5 feels like the front wheels aren't always in contact with the track, like there's a big crate of spanners in the boot/trunk, makes steering floaty.
Rumble strips and grass feel good, but still v little feel from the track surfaces themselves. I think it's odd, coming from GT7, but maybe that's how real race tyres feel?
Still wanting to remap the pad buttons/triggers to play it my GT7 way, but it's still doing more than enough to engage me for now. Will try some races soon; maybe the AI will push me too far. Keep reminding myself GT7 was a dog's dinner in its early days too.
But if Ian Bell and his team want to be millionaires this time next year they need to make it a bit more GT7-like for pad users - at least sort out the button mapping fgs guys n gals.

Question for those who achieved the target lap time trophies / achievements, does it have to be done with a specific car or any car will do and you only have to beat the time?

With DD+, the FFB improved in this patch, but in some cars it feels like I have a geared steering wheel instead of a Direct Drive. I noticed it most in the BMW M3.
Did you try disabling the haptic feedback setting in the FFB menu? I set it to 0 and had no vibrations.
My driver profile doesn't have any stats or anything yet. I don't know if they've been activated yet or if it's a bug. And I want to place the rearview mirror in the middle of the screen, but it won't let me.
 
When configuring the race wheater there are two configurable items at the very bottom
One is the time multiplier, and I get it,
But then there is the other one, probably about the weather, but don't understand its meaning
 
For those with Thrustmaster wheels on PS5, I had the same constant and horrible vibration/rumble until I turned the EQ low down to 0. I also found it increases and decreases with gain but not with the strength setting on each car so I run a low gain and maximum strength.

I think it's how variable you want weather to be. My guess is they wanted to have weather and time to have their own setting to avoid things like you have on GT7 where if you want to have a quick day night cycle, you end up with rain coming too fast and the track to dry too fast. But this is pure speculation on my part.
