Game even doesn't have any graphics settings, no matter if you have PS5 Pro to choose between Quality and Performance.

And framrate on Pro is terrible.
Do you have your system resolution set to 4K? Change it to 1440p and see what happens.

Doesn't help.

Here is one my lap (Dualsense with Jimster settings) at RBR in Porsche GT3:

Am I only thinking that before 1.5.0 there was no medium and soft tires?

What's going on? 😅
Does it work for the regular PS5?
Framerate on regular PS5 isn't too bad. Mostly high 50fps I'd say, noticed some poor performance on Lexington but otherwise not a huge issue. Hoping for improvements of course. Tbh id rather have a higher res as it's a bit blurry as is, but I know that'll tank performance, or maybe not if they reduce the AI car count to 10 haha

That looks really good on controller. I’ll use those settings on my Xbox pad when I get the game. I’m holding off until after the new year. Hopefully they can polish it up a bit more. Looks very promising though.

I like being able to adjust the roll bars from the OSD menu whilst driving, however these numbers and the values given in the actual car setup screen don't match up, and changing one does not affect the other, which is kinda annoying if I want to save setups based on the OSD changes.

Also how many times have I got to restart a race because of the (still) crazy, immovable AI cars causing carnage!?
And seeing one facing backwards on the starting grid sure is something...

But has been an enjoyable day driving nonetheless and I guess that's the big takeaway here.
Yeah, hopefully the next step with the AI will be to make them not be immovable objects, it’s really odd, like Gran Turismo 1.

Wonder if % is related to the degrees of rotation set on the wheel base? are people using auto or setting a value?

I’m using 900 on the base and seems to work fine
It could be because I asked about it on the PMR forum and a moderator said his Fanatec DD base is set on 1080 and it matches up. Mine is on AUTO. I might try the 1080 just to see what happens.

EDIT Nevermind, I can't change it because I'm using the AUTO preset and you can't change anything on it. You can only change if it's assigned to a game which it can't be right now because the Fanatec app doesn't recognize this game and it might be months before it does.

Got to spend some time with it tonight, finally. Just short quick thoughts. Grievances, it does feel a bit like an Early Access game, which is not a bad thing, but it's obvious the game needed a little more time in the oven (I don't think a year, but maybe 3-6 months?), esp. compared to their former titles. I'm a bit surprised for a game that really lets you deep dive into the car itself, camera & weekend options seem to be little lackluster; are we unable to pick time/weather outside the Race itself? Surprised there's no helmet cam, but the ability to pinpoint your cockpit camera is a nice touch, although it's a very small nitpick that I seem to have to do it for every car I get in. AI wise, I'm not sure what to make of it. I left it on default, and only did Sebring & Daytona for an hour or so. Maybe it's just Daytona, but running LMP/GT/N-GT, the LMPs seem to have trouble navigating the slower classes on the banking and just sit behind them until they slowly move left or right & then punch it. I didn't really run into AI myself to test their awareness around me, but running the R8 means I'm already faster than most of the field & the other LMPs I came across were getting backed up allowing for easy passing. Maybe that's a difficulty thing next time around that I need to crank up.

Graphically, I think is the thing that sticks out the most to me. The game automatically has me running everything on High/Very High with little FPS drops, but it looks washed out coming off PCars 2. Trackside detail also seems slightly lackluster, but it's forgivable since it's not a focal point. Car detail looks really nice, sounds are great to my ears, it's just everything looks like it lacks... polish, making the game look a little dated. It suffers from an issue Forza had at launch where this game looks much better when you're not in a middle-of-the-day, clear skies setting.

Car list is great & diverse, kind of surprised I didn't know the track list feels a bit small. It's also diverse, just a bit surpised to not see tracks like Laguna, Brands Hatch, or even the Suzuka knock-off return. Not a ding though, as these can always come back.

Physics wise, I do enjoy it. I really like bringing the car up to temp & feel it slowly build tire grip and speed. I can approach it the way I did PCars 2, but it is more fun to drive the car up to operating speed. The only complaint I have here is I'm on a controller, so I'm missing out on a lot of feedback to get the best experience, but the game is still very playable off a wheel.

I did spend a lot of the time in the R8 LMP at Daytona which is a race scenario I've done a lot on PCars 2 to get the most personal comparison & how I feel about the game. It's not as fun as PCars 2, but I can feel the potential to be is there. It's not the car or physics, it's everything else that's coming up short of delivering the same experience. AI tweaks, optimization, new settings are easily updateable in this day & age, so I'm not going to abandon the game. I'll likely prefer loading up PCars 2 when I need a sim fix, but I'm going to give this game months to get better, too.

Did a couple of runs with the Viper at Imola. AI at 78/80 must be my sweetspot here. Had a great time chasing that Lambo down

Yeah that's about where I am too depending on the class and the track. It's going to take a long time trying to handicap each car in it's class to try and figure out an AI level to run at.

Speaking of that, it seems that a lot of these classes are heavily weighted in favor of one car. There is no variety. Like this race.

I've only ran GT-1 twice and each time it's been those Toyota GT-Ones that have dominated it. I've noticed it in other classes as well.

I’m letting the game bake a lot longer. Somebody mentioned graphics wise it’s on par with PC2 or maybe the same but washed out. I just loaded PC2 up to refresh my memory… really? We’re considering that acceptable on next gen in 2026? 8-9 years later with hardly any graphical improvements?
