Especially since it seems to have been a big improvement to the game on PC. I saw a youtuber test it and saw the improved penalty system and got excited to try it but when I opened the game, the fps was abysmal. Hopefully they can sort it out soon as the update overall seems to be another step in the right direction.I'm glad they realised and rolled it back, but it'd have been much better just not to release it at all until it actually works properly without messing up the game. It is all a bit amateur hour.
How many more months will people keep saying 'another step in the right direction.' Ian Bell is a fraud. It's never going to work the way they sold you on.Especially since it seems to have been a big improvement to the game on PC. I have the same feeling. I booted the game up for the 1st time in a month yesterday. Driving felt fine, but a lot of games have that. There's nothing to draw anyone back in. Unless they do something like make the game free to play for a week and release some huge update such as a career overhaul, I think it's over after all the promised DLC is released. No one is coming back to this.I want to get back into playing this game, but it’s not drawing me back in. I knew it was going to happen. However, I was trying to give it the benefit of the things I like about the game.
As much as I agree that Ian Bell keeps doing Ian Bell things, and that this seems to be following a similar path of false claims and promises, for once I'm prepared to give it the benefit of the doubt and see what happens with updates etc.How many more months will people keep saying 'another step in the right direction.' Yes, I’m waiting for the DLC as well. The Japanese GT500 pack should bring me back in and later the V8 Power pack. Going to be a long time between drinks for me.As much as I agree that Ian Bell keeps doing Ian Bell things, and that this seems to be following a similar path of false claims and promises, for once I'm prepared to give it the benefit of the doubt and see what happens with updates etc.
For me, it's not the only game I can play in the meantime. I've got EA WRC, ACC and several others that can take my time up, and on that score, remember how unfinished ACC was when that released ( as a full game ) in 2020. It took a long time to get it to where it is now, regardless of the fact that game support ended a while ago, so even though there's less SIM titles available on console compared to PC, there's enough to go at.
I do hope that PMR gets some love cos it's not that bad at the moment and it's closest rival as far as new releases go is Rennsport. I haven't tried it to be fair but most reports say it's less polished and relies a lot on content being behind a paywall
For me the benchmark for handling is ACC and it's pretty close at least in GT3 ( yes I know PMR has a more wide range of car classes. I tested an AMG GT3 round Monza and Kyalami on both games and found a lot of similarities which was good for me, as a comparison between ACC and PCars2 is a lot more of a gap.
Hopefully we'll get a more polished game soon enough
Yeah, I downloaded it.They just dropped 1.5.0.6 for consoles
Wise choice. Even after 3 or 4 patches, this is still woeful when it comes to the performance on the SX.I don't think it matters much whether we give Ian Bell the 'benefit of the doubt' or not. The game’s either going to get patched to a basically enjoyable state (like PC2 was after two years or so) or it's not.
It's whether we want to give him our money while we find out. For me, as enjoyable as PC2 still is on console (PS4Pro) it is very much 'wait and see'.
I hope Bell can keep working on it without my money up front, but after having been burnt on Shift, Shift2 and PC2 (all had serious bugs at end of life), he can have my money AFTER it's working this time.
GT7 has its issues but I don’t think it’s as simcade as people think. I think its history has given it that impression. It’s much more of a sim now. With a wheel. I can struggle with a car using the wheel, fire up the same track and car with a controller and drive no problem that’s with all assists off. So I believe with a wheel the cars are a little more difficult to drive or realistic. Had a Jaguar tune I could hardly keep in a straight line with my wheel, one controller it was hard to lose control.Wise choice. Even after 3 or 4 patches, this is still woeful when it comes to the performance on the SX.
Personally I'd advise anyone on console to stick to FM or GT7 and not waste your money like me.
- Like PC2, it might be great eventually but on next gen consoles.
There is plenty of setup packs to d/l the ones i got have a low/med/high setup from what i've seen so far the high grip setups had slightly higher pressures over stock it might be worth grabbing a few and taking a look through to see how they change per setup 🧐I can only speak from PC2 experience, but I haven't read any drastic change so far with PMR. Yes, getting the tires up to green and little further is important. Then it's going to depend on race length as to how much wear you can allow before the drop off lets other cars challenge you. Unless you're on a track like Monza or LeSarthe, where higher pressures will reduce rolling resistance and help top speeds at the expense of less grip in the chicanes, keeping tire pressures as low as possible without excessive wear or temperature will give you best grip.
Honestly, I'd look up some PC2 pressures for the different classes as a starting point and adjust from there...

I think you could wait a bit longer, I like it the way it is right now, even if this still plagged with bugs ansd lack of refinements, but again, strong fundations are thereIs this game currently worth it on Xbox? I really like PCARS2 and played it a lot on both the Xb One and One X. Better to wait while they refine it some more?
