So it is getting better? How does it olay on ps5 pro and on dualsense right now after all the updates?
Yes it's way better than launch, FFB and physics are really good, graphics have improved and AI as well
But it is still plagued with several bugs, it seems a huge patch is coming by the end of the week

I would love to play a good career.
Yes, it got better but the career mode is really basic. Depending in the racing class the handling is good and AI behaves most of the time understandable. At the moment it is better to use for single Player career than Multiplayer... but as much as I like it it is far from finished or flawless.

Its good in the sense that it has a lot of potential but in its current state, yeah its a little basic but enjoyment can still be had from it. They just need to rework it to make it more interesting and immersive.
It is unreal to think that we do not have single sim/simcade game with a good single player experience and progression outside GT7. What a shame. Do not know what to buy

Yeah its pretty frustrating. For me, the only sim games that I've played that have actually decent/good career modes are project cars 2, nascar 25, and the f1 series but pc2 came out 9 years ago and is delisted, nascar 25 is for only if you like oval racing (and its career is still somewhat basic), and the f1 career gets very stale after a few seasons.

Unfortunately i do not like anymore codemasters titles lately. Everything seems like a game still in alpha. Everything feels and looks wrong. Not my cup of tea. Yeah project cars 2 was greaaat!!

Yeah the fact that a game that came out 9 years ago on old Gen hardware still has a single player experience that's better than a lot of modern Sim titles is insane.

I don't actually have much of a problem with the career in PMR. It's a little light on content at the moment but if you're on PC you can dream up one off races and championships, and some career mods have hit the modhub for console guys. The trick is, it's not meant to be a set the difficulty low and grind out three lap races kind of thing, it's meant to be a similated actual race career played on authentic difficulty and at longer race lengths (and yes I know the default is quite short but you can change that in the options) where hard decisions have to be made and you don't always win. I don't get a lot of time to play but I've been picking my way through all the 964 championships and having a good time doing it.

What race length would you suggest to use. I feel the default is too short but I don't know how much each setting affects the race lengths. Any suggestions?

Different answer for different people and classes. Bearing in mind I've mostly been driving the 964 and MX-5- club racing level stuff- 1x and 2x race length makes a lot of sense in that context. Even most GT4 races around the world are 45-60 minutes so 2x or 3x would work well for those, although there are series with 2-4 hour races. Once you get into GTP or Group C, that kind of thing, those races generally start at around 6 hours and get longer from there, so I'd be looking to scale them because I don't have that kind of time, maybe looking to keep it around 1.5 to 2 hours-ish. Experimentation will be required.
