The cars are great. Okayama(Takimiya) is great(I’m definitely biased because I love this track from watching both Super GT and Super Taikyu). Handling with controller felt much more responsive. Using the green Civic, I did spin once on the penultimate lap of a five minute race because, my right rear tyre was generating more heat than the other tyres.

Jumped in the JGTC #53 Z at Daytona. Love this version better than the GT7 version. Digging the difference of the sequential shift delay against the EVO car’s snappier paddle shift. Felt more GT car rather than the Civic being more LMP and formula car like. Good DLC.

Jumped back in the Falcon to see if it improved. Going to take me a lot of work to dial that sucks in. It’s still floaty and the steering still see saws. V8 Supercars are low aero, big power and the lock diff makes driving them tricky. I get all that, but it’s so sensitive to pitch, yaw and throttle inputs. I guess it’s real, but a bit much for me right now.

I feel this pack could be the start to the saving grace for this game. The V8 Supercars Gen 3 or Gen 4 pack, if that's what it winds up being, will truly get people purchasing.
People new and on the fence will have to put away comparing graphics first. Same with Project Cars 2, this franchise of games have to be judged on their own.

The issue is not the graphics but the performances, on normal ps5 the game run so bad still

Personally haven't had any issues on PS5, PS5 in fact seems to have been the most stable version since launch. Mostly 60fps, some minor drops when the screen gets particularly busy.
It must be those 15 cars ahead of you

I’ve had 30 car grids on a high end pc and it’s been alright, not much stuttering but certain tracks are just worse than others, Daytona being the worst.

But the graphics are just not up to scratch, it’s just dated and can’t keep up with competitors. They need to have some big improvements in optimisation somewhere with this unless the giants engine is too limiting. I have no experience of Farming Simulator so not sure if this is its root cause.

Farming Simulator looks pretty good to me. But the problem could be the engine used in Farming Simulator. The problem is that in car racing, the cars are going at 100 mph. Numerous cars, with huge rates of calculations. On top of that, landscapes need to form immediately before our eyes as we take each corner. The engine is work at a monumental rate compared to what it was originally designed to do. Supposedly.
So in turn, steps need to be taken to ensure an amount of optimization so this engine can process these calculations or draw these visual assets without any hesitation. I'm sure it's a daunting task. Not easy. One Farm Tractor going 10mph with some grass blowing around it probably isn't a big stress.
How Straight 4 determines what to cut or how to optimize or when certain lods kick in probably uncharted territory. My guess at least. This Hadron Engine is completely new. Simulations benefit from years of trial and error and adjustments to the engine. Not just months. Sadly patience as a virtue seems to all but died but understandable when you want something you've paid for to work.

For whatever it's worth, I run PMR at 2k instead of 4k, all with high settings and haven't had an issue except for when it first came out and I was changing graphics settings in the middle of a race. It didn't like that and crashed.

This doesn't look all washed out like PMR does.

Did a little collage for graphics comparison. Unfortunately, at least for me, is that when I upload video replays or game screenshots to the Xbox network, they really get optimised and buffed. Case in point is when I played PCars 1 it looked like ass on my gaming monitor lol.
However, here's the picture

Yeah, PC2 on PS4, looked okay. On PS5 it looks too dark. While PMR addressed the darkness issue, but now it’s too bright. If you all get my meaning. I have had some early stuttering on my PS5P, but it doesn’t disrupt the gameplay.

I'm sitting way too high in the Super GT cars as well. I left it so I can hurry up and drive. Definitely needs to be adjusted.

Had a first run at the new track with N-GT and like it a lot! Going there with GT500 Cars seems wild for me at the moment...

Something different: can someone please tell me how I can save a replay of a race in multiplayer? I can only see profiles of other drivers. 🤨

You can't save a MP replay on console but the devs say it's coming

Thank you! Good to know because you cannot record any incidents then... So far it was only needed one time but often I like to watch some moments of a race afterwards for myself.

(It is obvious and approved a dozen of times but the people here at GT Planet are best! I did try to ask something similar in the PMR Discord-channel and it got first ignored and then washed away by "noise"... Thank you all for keeping this place such a wonderful community!)

Replays are essential for organized leagues. If the steward can't review incidents, there goes the entire POINT of a league... to get more realistic racing than the auto-stewarding system allows.

The only way PMR is going to gain traction online is the crossplay lobbies, and if you HAVE to be running on PC to host so you can send incidents to the steward from your race save, that's a big drawback.

PC2 could save replays on console, but it was limited to about a 20-25 min race, barely a sprint. I'm not sure PMR understands how important replays are, to both the hardcore simmers, but also to the casual gamer who just wants to watch his efforts.

How was this game launched without replays? 🙄

So got the DLC, loaded up the Supra around AIDA and had an absolute blast. Thought this was finally the game I wanted all along.

Then tried the GT500's around Spa and that's where I started to get the feeling nothings changed. Cars are ridiculous under breaking and through the Bus Stop (as if I was driving the Red Bull X2010 or something) I can brake from nearly 300 to nothing in about 50 metres and carry crazy speed through there... but lose heaps of time around the rest of the track? Whatever.

Also the graphics are still hot garbage.

And the track limits are ****. Why isn't there an option to turn them off?

😮‍💨

Last night I tried the GT500 Classics (I guess as they are called) at Zolder and at that first chicane AI cars were flipping wildly in the air. Not on every lap but most of the 10 I ran, the AI cars were running much too fast through there. Some would jump just a little and get all four wheels off then keep right on going which is another thing about this game. Cars will make these violent twitches and not lose momentum. But others were flipping and kind of hanging against the fence I guess before landing. I remember that chicane at Zolder having problems a few updates ago with AI cars being too fast and would just run through you but they were doing this flipping thing.

Got the game yesterday (couldn't resist the GT500 cars. I'm a sucker for everything related to Super GT series or DTM prototypes).

I have a base OG PS5. The game struggles to hit 60fps without other cars in sight. Sometimes it dips below 50 (tested using my TV stats). It's still playable. Maybe because my TV has VRR, but it's clearly not optimised.

I didn't try it with a wheel yet. I'll do that next time. Does someone have g29 settings and other tips for the cars' specific ffb?

I also recently tried out PMR using the same car from Gran Turismo 4, the 2003 Takata Dome NSX at Suzuka.

In single player setup you can turn penalties off

First question on the game - why is the MX-5 so had to control?? In the rain, its like on ice - i cant get around a corner with spinnng?!

One thing thats RUINING the game for me atm,is the COLLISION DETECTION - i start pole off at Monza - i keep getting taken out by the AI and spinning,or they hit my side and the engineer says i have to pit cos of damage - i keep having to restart the race over and over again....this didnt even happen in Project Cars. Has the Collision Detection always been like this?!
