I rearranged my schedule and last night decided to try some different cars and tracks to see if anything changed or felt better. The slight optimism I felt on Wednesday night driving the Corvette GT3 at Nurburgring GP was not carried over to the Mercedes GT3 at Spa. No lateral grip at all. Four wheel slides into a lot of turns. Having to brake hard and downshift to go through Eau Rouge is not how a GT3 car is supposed to go through that turn at least I don't think it is. At the Bus Stop chicane the car wanted to just slide to the left and then slide to the right through the turns, the opposite directions of how it's supposed to go. So I had to try and torque steer it through there to get the rear end to come around. It was just a mess and the worst that car has ever felt.

Then I took the Mustang GT3 to CTMP and it was more of the same. No lateral grip, four wheel sliding, etc., etc., etc.

But what didn't help with anything I drove is how I feel bumps on the track with this game. Undulations feel like pot holes. Occasionally it feels like I've ran over a 6 inch diameter pipe that was laid across the track. This huge jolt goes through the wheel. I ran a 8 lap race at CTMP with the V8's and after practice and the race my hands and arms felt like I had tried to do 200 pushups. The shaking was just constant. But a slight positive was the V8 felt a little better at CTMP than it did at Bathurst and Derby. Turn 3 is where it really wanted to get away from me.

I also drove the Lamborghini SC63 at Rocky Knoll and that wasn't that bad either.

I wish they would stick to one handling model. I don't play much and was just getting used to the old GT4 model, now back to the drawing board. Tried some of the other classes, a few ok but sadly MX5 still feels horrid to me.

I might just wait for when they inevitably abandon support for the game. At least then it will be consistent

Seems to be two groups here, one thinks everything Aris touches is gold, and some that don't like the updates at all. I can't really comment much on the GT3's and 4's as I've never touched them but with N-GT which I generally liked before, some of the cars got way, way worse, and some stayed about the same. It was weird. Fortunately the Porsche was my pick before and was still okay after some setup tweaking, I'm probably not pushing hard enough to find the edge though. What can I say, I'm slow and I know it, I knoweth my lane and stayeth in it, LOL. The 964 slides around a bunch more. It reminds me a lot of when I raced karts at indoor facilities on smooth concrete, which is fun but not quite how I'd think a Porsche running race tires on grippy asphalt tracks should drive like it did before, and the consensus on the MX-5 is also pretty mixed.

I tried playing over the weekend but couldn't get VR working. I updated the game file and added -VR to the Steam launcher but still ends up in theater mode on my Valve Index. I was very disappointed because I love this game for what is has become over the last few months. I just can't sim race anymore without VR.

I read that and heard Count Bin Faces's voice on my head.

I think one of the issues for me is they acknowledge the majority of sales are on console but they are still focusing primarily on PC development. The game is an absolute failure on PC (about 50 daily players according to SteamDB, won't be much more from other launchers) and I don't see how that changes.

Agreed, they should really double down on the console side of it, PC is lost for them, there's too much established competition there for them to claw anything back.

I know the development of the platforms goes hand in hand but the console should be the priority for feedback and leading where the development goes, they have a chance to be the defacto simulation choice for console and they need to do it before LMU and AC Evo finally make their way over.

The game was an absolute disaster at launch, but now that I’m playing it on XSX it seems to me like it has a lot of potential.

The big problem PMR faces is the toxic crowd that has criticized the game endlessly.

At launch, all the negative things said about PMR were justified, I criticized it too.

But after several updates, I think it’s heading in the right direction.

I think they should release a demo on Steam, Xbox and PS5 so people can try it and judge for themselves instead of listening to Youtubers.

Sure, there’s plenty of room for improvement, but honestly I don’t think it deserves all the criticism it’s getting in its current state.

I have been watching this game for awhile and I almost pulled the trigger when it was on sale but I didn't want to buy it without the season pass. SO my wait continues. TBH it seems like the longer I wait the more they patch the game. Hopefully they will have a nice sale around Christmastime as they have a few car/tracks combos I am anxious to try out

I pulled the trigger last week, haven't played much but from what i played seemed improved from what i played in the xbox free weekend awhile ago.
