One problem, the car model is still of the '03 Pescarolo Courage Evo. The 03 Courage is different mainly at the rear, with new rear wing regulations for 2004 LeMans and LMES. Compare:

Courage-BC6.jpg

Vertical strut at the edge of the rear wing, seperate from the rear fender

Courage-JM4.jpg

Curved strut at the edge of the rear wing attached directly to the rear fender.

Minor, but still, this makes me wonder if this is temporary and they'll model the 04 car, and as mentioned before, if the 03 car will remain in...

Now, now... I am freaking glad GT4 will debut open-top road racing cars. Believe it or not, I wished they'd be in GT3. But to me, the philiosophy to me as to why they weren't included in other GT games goes like this:

When you think of GT Racing, you normally think of closed-cockpit race cars capable of dominating the road courses of the world. So the inclusion of an open-top machine would kind of take away the "GT" element. And as I'm sure, technology is much different from a closed-cockpit race car like the Bentley EXP GT that won Le Mans last year, for example. And to me, you think about the JGTC. You don't see any prototypes mixing it up against the Supras, 350Zs, and NSXes of this year, do you? So that's why I don't think LMPs would have made it into a closed-cockpit racing game. But it is nice to see them at long last. I wouldn't mind getting into a prototype. For one thing, the machine displayed in the top pictures show possibly the next Pescarolo run the 8+ mile Circuit de la Sarthe this June. And to tell you the truth, I thought a Gran Turismo-sponsored machine like the 2003 Pescarolo Courage would be cool to race, but after seeing what this year's model will be, I'm in love! The paintscheme I can live with, I don't think the green messes up the blue and white paint.

But if they want to include sponsorship, you can decal up the Lolas, Riley and Scotts, the Pilbeams, the Dome (pronounced "doh-may"), and so on. Of course, if you wanted to rule with Japanese power, get a Dome, give it a Toyota V8 or maybe (and call me crazy), a Honda V10, derived from the BAR F1 team. But, it's a good call to Polyphony Digital to debut these sportscars. I knew waves of change were coming as the Formula One cars debutted in GT3.

To end the topic, here are two "maybes":
(1) If rights to Ferrari are locked up, I would love to race the Momo Ferrari 333SP. Even thought it didn't win Le Mans, it is still a fast sportscar with beautiful engine noise.
(2) While Audi will probably no doubt be in GT4, the Audi R8 would be cool to race. And the alluring Audi R8C from 1999 would make for a sweet car to race. But if the Audi R8 will be included, I'd better have Panoz so I can kick Audi's asses and do what Panoz Motorsport couldn't- DETHRONE AUDI!!!

Ohhhhh, ahhhhhh. Nice pics. There was some of the same at www.spong.com but the link wont work for me. I got the e-mail notice from google that had info about a new car in GT4, but the link didn't work. I bet it's the same car, though.

The Ferrari 333SP in GT4, uh? Not bad, but I want a 312P first. The Audi R8 needs to be in GT4. The winning record of this race car is legendary. Good call, John.

Lovely screencaps !

It looks like we are in for a nice batch of endurance cars. I just hope that KY's team will change the life-span of the tyres so that it will be possible to use tyres with a reasonable amount of grip without having to pit again and again after every 5 or 7 laps (with medium racing tyres).

I agree that pitstops are a way of creating a tactical race, but a 20 lap race with 3 stops is more than I would like it to be.

Those pics are not good justice to gt4's amazing look. I'm sure that's the new build, notice the speed blur. Man, I would love to see those pics are 600x480 at a higher res or a vid  But overall, the pics are look so damn impressive and damn realistic. I thought one of the pics were real.

More than a year ago when i first saw it's presentation on Motors TV and its PlayStation stickers i know straight away that it would be in GT4... but now after seen those pics i feel like never felt before - something really itching inside when imagining what it would feel like to play with that car...:nervous:

Me neither, they're good but nothing like a picture of a real one.

Was it these two? ;)

But still, it will be a welcome experience to race open-top sportscars. These machines are beautiful in many senses than one. Just look at them zoom down the track. At one point, the little air scoop and all look like Formula One cars, but you soon find out that this car has lights on the front and on the back. So I'm curious as to which other prototypes will make their debut.

Porsche and Ferrari are still questionable at this point, but I would like to see the Porsche 917s, and maybe the Panoz LMP car. The one that raced Le Mans back in 2001 turned out to be a disaster, so they went back to the original model. And I mean, you basically put Panoz in GT3, it's an awesome car, so why not putting in this rarity of a car? It is about the only front-engine/rear-drive LMP SPORTSCAR I know. Don Panoz would be smiling brightly if one of his little LMP babies make it into GT4. Then he can outsmile Smilin' Bob and stop him from showing the same damned Enzyte commercials FOR GOOD! (drinks soda) Ahh, next reply, please?

I think if they're going to include one open cockpit car like the Pescarolo they should back it up with a few more and turn it into a race series. The Audi R8 owns because there's not too much competition :P Even when there was it was beating them comfortably but another 1-2-3 at Le Mans is as interesting as the next Ferrari 1-2 in F1. I wish the Bentley Speed 8 was in and also the latest Maserati, the C12 is it? I remember reading news reports a while back from drivers who were going to race it who said it was like a plane compared to their cars and was set to destroy the GT championship.

Yes we already know the graphics are amazing.... dont need to over say it, Well we might see alot of Enduro races but hopefully the AI will pit more than they did in GT3 because I pitted like twice as much as the AI did...

As a Le Mans special, I'm bringing back this topic. I'm not the creator of this topic, but I wanted to bring this back up to highlight on the Pescarolo that's in this year's Le Mans. So check this out if you haven't already.
