ask, and i will tell
Just went out Saturday and bought I DFGT! Love the wheel! But whilst watching some reviews beforehand (InsideSimRacing on YouTube) they said that with a mean set of pedals this would be one of the best wheels on the market. So I was wondering what other pedals are comparable with this wheel? Currently I'm using the pedals from the MOMO wheel which I kinda prefer to the original pedals that come with the DFGT.

With a bit of modding I think almost any pedals can be used as they all work the same way. I think some people use ECCI pedals, a lot use G27 pedals... The list goes on. Look into G27 pedals with a load cell conversion or Nixim mod, that shouldn't be TOO expensive and would be a huge improvement.

I would consider returning the wheel and getting a G27 if possible. It's one thing to get the DFGT to start out with and then get new pedals later, but if you want new pedals now you might as well get the G27.

ISR maybe said that it's the best wheel on the market for it's price range. The only other 900 degree wheel would be a Fanatec ?Carrera? (I think) (and also the DFP)
The wheel is great for beginners, but once you get comfortable, you'll see the flaws popping up. The biggest one is how slow the wheel turns because of it's gears.

If you're in the long run, a G27 is gonna be better, especially with the amount of after market accessories for it.

I'll have to look into some of the modded pedals. Tanks for the response.

I'm not in a hurry to get new pedals. Just wondering what my options are for the future. Thanks

Ok, I guess to me the wheel is excellent, especially because the last one u had was a DFP.

I am in the long run but I needed to upgrade at a low price because I'm trying to save some money for the next iPod touch, as mine is cracked and the home button stopped working. :(

Also, did I hear somewhere that the g25 pedals were compatible with the DFGT or did I hear wrong?

You could always make the brake and throttle spring stiffer.

You will need a screwdriver to open up pedals, a vice to hold the chrome spring and a pair of pliers to bend the spring back to create a stiffer spring. I also added a rumble motor to my dfgt on the brake pedal for lock up vibration. I would post pics but cant remeber how to do it.

The g25/g27 pedals will work but you will have to rewire some things I think...there's a video on youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eAhNhWNNm-8 This will show you how to do it, though you won't be able to use the clutch. If you do this you could buuy a NIXIM mod or AP electrix load cell mod to make them even more realistic.

A second alternative is you could buy the ECCI pedals that are made for the DFGT to be used on PS3. You get a gas and brake and great build quality, but they're pretty expensive I think, take a look here: http://ecci6000.com/6000_momo_01.htm

Quote from them:"ECCI offers TRACKSTAR 6000 pedal units that are plug compatible with Logitech force feedback wheels. Loaded with all the innovative features of the 6000 series, these pedals provide vastly superior operation over the standard plastic OEM components.

Or you could just go super cheap and wrap a bungee cord around the brake or chuck a squash ball under it, but, you know...

Make your choice.

I also watched a video on YouTube where he used cotton buds to pressure up the brake pedal.

Those pedals look pretty serious. Do you know the exact cost? Didn't see it on the link.

I use my DFGT w/G27 pedals on my PS3, no issues. Also have the GTEye brake spring upgrade.

Hookup the original DFGT wires to a set of G27 pedals. Here are some pics for the connections.

I wouldnt bother with cotton bud one as bending the spring does the same thing. What i hope to do with my wheel now is just get the derek spear wheel adaptor(when in stock) so i can fit a sparco rally wheel on it then make a handbrake i am only buying stuff i can transfer to use on a better wheel like a G27. Dfgt is great but only so much you can do with it before you need a upgrade :)

For the basic ECCI pedals for DFGT they are 379 dollars, ( don't know which country's dollars though). With various upgrades they can be alot more...see here: http://ecci6000.com/products.asp?id=12 and scroll down until you see Trackstar 6000 pedals for Logitech (2 Pedal). I can't comment on them as I haven't used them, but I believe a user named Coxis has got them...so Coxis if you're reading this fancy giving us some thoughts about them?

Jesus christ for $ 380 i could build a ****er handbreak and hydralic pedals with load cells and a button box for that price i only paid £80 for the dfgt brand new

If you could spend that ammount on just pedals it would be a definete upgrade to a thrustmaster

OMG! And that just includes the pedals?

Yes, I own a 2 pedal ECCI set, been its happy owner since February of this year and I couldn't be happier. The thing weights like a ton and the resistance it gives when braking is superb, you really have to stomp on it hard in order to get the pedal to its full travel distance. My braking has never been so precise and consistent especially when compared to the stock DFGT pedals; they are 100% compatible with PS3, GT5 (as long as they're connected to the back of a DFGT or DFP) and PC. For more pics you can check my cockpit thread in my signature. I highly recommend them.
