So, hi all. Im interested in knowing the community's opinion about PS Vita. I looked at many videos, reviews from IGN, gameplays and I've come to the conlcusion that-even though im short on cash-I might actually get it. Am I wrong? Anyone else has different opinion?

Also take into consideration the following before giving me your advice:
- I have never bought a portable gaming device
- I was not interested in portable devices simply because I had my Playstation at home. Also it would be kinda weird to take out a PSP in classroom or at the cafeteria to play a little
- The Vita's price is either 250$ (without 3G) and 300$ (with 3G), meaning it is as expensive as a brand new PS3.
- You need to buy a Memory Card (4GB, 8GB or 16GB) which isn't included in the box, so you have to purchase it separately. Also its price ranges ~40$ and it is confirmed you cannot play any games without a Memory Card
- PS Vita's games cost around 30$ to 50$, this is as much as a brand new PS3 game.

So yeah, I have pointed out the drawbacks of the Vita (the known ones, if you know anything else let us know). Still, after watching the videos and reviews from people unboxing it and showing it live, im convinced it may actually deserve all the expenses.

You have a different opinion? Let me know!

That's why I told you. Lots of info and opinions there.

I still don't know if I jump the ship directly or wait a bit. Uncharted is tempting..

For some reason Uncharted never intrigued me. Im more like Escape Plan and some other really cool games. In my OP I have a link to Vita's playlist of games, really helpful.

I have a wifi model preordered on Amazon. For games and accessories I haven't decided yet. I know I will get Escape Plan and Uncharted, although I may wait on Uncharted depending on when Gravity Rush releases. As for memory card I'm going to wait and see if there are any deals before I decide. I think 4gb is enough for a while unless I can get a larger one cheaper than the prices we've seen. I've considered the starter pack to get the memory card with screen protector and carrying case. Ahh, so many decisions.

Can I ask you something? If I don't buy the 3G model (which is 50$ more expensive!!:ouch:), I will still have Wi-Fi to play online right?

Right now the 3G version is the one to get. It comes with an 8GB card and a free PSN game voucher. And 1 month of 3G. The WiFi is the 360 core of handhelds now.

My understanding is the 3G can't even be used for online gaming, just the social features like NEAR. It sounds like it wouldn't be a reliable enough connection for online gaming. I could be wrong on that.

That release day bundle does look nice, and I've thought about trying to get it instead but I'm worried about availability for it. Also, don't you have to sign up with AT&T to get the free game? I have no intention of paying for 3G, but if I know I can get one and I don't have to sign up for 3G to get the game then I will cancel my preorder and get that. Are stores taking preorders on it?

All im interested in is online gaming and being able to search in the internet. If WiFi can do that, then I dont need 3G. I'll spent those 50$ to get Escape Plan and a Memory Card. But im still not sure whether to buy it or not.

The 3g not being able to run online games isnt true. I personally know 4 people who are playing the ps3 on 3g wireless with ALMOST no issues. When 4g becomes avaliable here I would think there will be no issues. The only issue they have on 3g is once a week or so they get booted and cant host any rooms. Thats on bf3, mw3 and gt5. 👍 Weather sony will allow it is another story, but 3g will run online games.

My understanding is not that the speeds aren't fast enough, but the connection it's self isn't reliable. Someone riding in a car or on a train could drop in and out of service quite frequently, ruining the experience for them and the people they are playing with. WIFI connections are more stable since you probably won't be moving.👍
