Now i understand that a ps2 has to be modded to play burned discs. And this is because the ps2 is programmed to read a small barcode in the center of the disc. so what if i delete the original game, and burn a different game on the disc? is this possible? if so mabey i wont have to mod my ps2 to play custom songs on GH2. Because if i burn into a ps2 disc, the code is still their so the ps2 thinks it's an "original" ps2 game. Please tell me if this is possible.

Moderators pease move this thread if it is in the wrong place.

Hunh?

the techies will have to speak to you on this one, but, I'm pretty sure what you're thinking of is (1) Illegal, and (2) Impossible. The way I understand it, commercially produced game discs/DVDs/CDs are manufactured in a way so they cannot be altered: "burnt" As it were. They're permanently written, etched with a very high-powered laser in Aluminum.

That's entirely untrue. By decompiling and reburning to a separate disk, it's quite easy to remove things.
It's very true. While you can actually remove something from the data that once was on the disk, you can't remove the data itself from the disk. Unless you find a way to format a factory made disk, that is.

Did I not say "Burn to a separate disk"?

Pretty sure I said that...
