ps2 not playing on ps3

i got 80gb and it wont let me play gt4 why will ps2 games play on 60 gb but not on the better 80gb who brain wasnt working when they came up with that idea anyway is there a way to get gt4 to play on my ps3 ??

It depends when you got your 80GB, as far as I know the newer version of the 80GB doesn't have the backward compatibility like the older version.

Unfortunately only 60GB PS3 can play PS2 games, so I'm sorry to say that you can't play GT4 on a 80GB PS3.

Sony removed the emulation chip (someone correct me if I'm wrong) and the memory card readers from the newer models to reduce costs.

The only way to play GT4 is to bye a PS2, i have to. I got a 40GB version PS3 & i wish i can play PS2 games on it.
