hey everyone.

its getting me worried about it setting fire and wreaking everything in my room has anyone the same problem with it and how do i make it cool down

Thank you

Kyle

I don't know if it will reach dangeous levels, but I've seen PStwos getting very hot and crash. What you need to do is to make it stand up with the optional screw-on foot. It will be able to dissipate the heat much better and therefor not get as warm. At least that's one way to cure the problem...

My brother has had a slim-line PSTwo for a while now and I have used it for a few endurance races in GT4. Not once has to caught anything alight, and it's sitting on a wooden desk. Our Xbox 360 generates much more heat. To reach its ultimate limits, one of our Moderators Famine has never had a problem with his on his 468 hour marathon of it not being turned off, found here...

Though, I still recommend (common sense really) to keep the machine in an airy place and away from any immediate flamable materials.

In all fairness your room temperature will make all the difference... if your worried about ure ps two maybe drop your room down a few degrees (if its not to cold)... in summer run it near an open window or door..... and always try to have it vertical and off the floor.

One of my mates has a 360 and he is really worried about how hot it gets, it was meant to have water cooling bulit in (much like the apple g5 setup) but it didnt happen in the end due to cost..... I hope the PS3 doesnt have the same problems..... I cant imagine how you could use these things in very hot countries.....

I can't put mine vertical, due to the LCD attached to it, but I stick s couple of coffee mugs under it, seems to make a big difference

It'll get hot, very hot (if not in a well ventilated area with airflow) but it shouldn't burst into flames and ruin your house. My advice...if you have a small desk fan or something, turn that on and point it at the ps2...helps a lot.

i'm sceared that my PS2 the one that came out with GT3
will get fryed if i do a 24H race in A Spec:nervous:
Trust me, that won't either. Completely oblivious to the danger I put it in, our original PS2 was right in the sun in the Conservatory for the first months of its life. The room can get up to 50+C during the summer. Fortunately, during the endurance races in GT3, the PS2 had no problems. I think I can say it's more than likely for the Slimline PSTwo to overheat than the ordinary one is...
