I've read and seen in many forums that PS2 controllers work on PS1, even wireless, some say that basically all PS2 controllers should work on PS1. And it's not just a theory, people who have tested themselves and use them to play games on their console have said that. On some of them is stated that it works for PS1, PSOne, PS2, but some doesn't list that they are compatible with PS1, yet they work on PS1 console as well. I'm curious exactly about Logitech PS2 steering wheels since they don't state that they work with PS1 but as I said, even controllers who don't list that they work on previous generation, actually works. I can't find any information about this on the net. I'm thinking about Logitech Driving Force Pro, which is official Gran Turismo edition, would it work with Gran Turismo series on PS1 console?

Silly you. That steering wheel has an USB connector needed. PS1 came out when USB didnt even exist commercially.

PS2 and afterwards has one.

The Logitech ones I'm talking about have the original PS2 connector as well which is exactly the same as PS1. And I'm not talking about the latest Driving Force Pro, but the one that came along with GT3 on PS2.

No. The Logitech steering wheel protocol used from GT3 with the original GT Force up through whenever support for the PS3 ends didn't exist before GT3, so GT1 and GT2 won't know what is being fed to them. An early Driving Force will probably "work" in the sense that you will be able to control things with the face buttons and D-Pad and maybe even use the wheel and pedals as digital inputs, but the earlier GT games supported the Namco neGcon protocol for analog control devices and the wheels that copied said protocol. GT2 was announced to support Jogcon as well, but I don't know if the final game actually is able to use it.

Since the question has been answered I guess it won't hurt to go a little off-topic... Thanks to you and the beers I've had tonight, this happened:
