PS3 backup to new PS3

I would like to know, is it possible to backup my current PS3 to a new PS3 with all DLC for various games.

Connect the two together with Ethernet cables and it'll transfer

I upgraded hard drives using an USB external drive, took a long time to restore but it worked without a problem. I didn't know you could do it by connected two with an ethernet cable.

I did the same thing but if you think about it you can use Ethernet cables because essentially they sent and receive packets of data when playing online.

Have backed up my ps3 several times but never done a restore. when my son gets his own ps3 ile use an ether net cable. Thanks
