Well i bought my original PS3 back the day of the release, it crashed there about 6mths ago out of warranty so had to pay Sony £130 for a refurbished unit which lasted a month before that one crashed and then they replaced it free cause they gave me a 12mth warranty.
Now this PS3 is slightly lagging a bit and i suffered one day of freeze for a slight second when playing GT5 so i decided to ring Sony and they have apologised and a new Slim 120gb version will be out to me on 29th Dec.
Thing is i have the ps3 backed up using the built in Backup Utility onto an external HD. Can i just reinstall this onto the new unit when it arrives?
My internet is very slow as i live in the countryside so it took me 6hrs to download the latest 606mb GT5 update, is this also saved with the backup or does that have be re-downloaded?
