PS3 Bluetooth not finding my headset?

I have tried all ways but even after searching for 10+mins it does not find any devices?
BTW i always stop the search after 10 mins or so, how long should i leave it scanning?

What headset have you got?

If you have the original PS3 headset, then you will need to hold down the POWER and MUTE button at the same time, they will then both flash green and red, letting you know that you are in Discovery mode, then search for it and it should come up. The pass-code is 0000 for all of them.

If you have another type of headset, make sure it's on, or plugged into the system via the USB-connection cable that should have been given to you when you bought the headset.

Other then that, like Sureboss said, what type of headset have you got?

Its a plantronics voyager 520 i found out if i restart my ps3 and try it finds it ok, but when in chat it wont stay connected for more than 5 mins.

Not that I think it makes much difference but since it's a phone headset, i'm not sure on what the range would be like. How far away from the PS3 are you sitting?
