According to the latest issue of UK magazine, PSW, PS3 Crysis will be an almost 50% new game. The magazine also states that many of the original games staff were taken off PC Crysis months before release to begin to work on Crysis 2 and a port to PS3. The PS3 version will apparently include aspects of the sequel - but a new structure, environments, weapons and enemies.

"First up, we have Crysis. Now it's no secret that Crysis is coming to PS3 this year. The excitable, hard-worked coders over at Crytek have said as much in many interviews - they've even produced a new, multi-platform engine in readiness - but the real juice here is that it won't be a straight conversion of the PC game. We understand PS3 Crysis will be an almost 50% new game, with many of the original games staff taken off PC Crysis months before release to begin to work on Crysis 2 and a port to PS3 that will include aspects of the sequel - but a new structure, environments, weapons and enemies will feature on PS3. This should be one of the year's biggest console shooters."

This and Far Cry 2 in the same year? I need to see it in action first as the word port and PS3 dont blend well together.

It sounds as if the original story isn't even included, or that its a condensed version and is sort of a Crysis 1.5.

After reading the Playstation mag preview, I am more excited about Far Cry 2 than Crysis. it's not that Crysis is a bad game.

I'm not relying on rumors for this one.. I'll wait until EA or Crytek makes an official announcement.

I've played with Crysis a little bit, in the demo (my computer doesn't have a hope in hell of pushing the game for real, so I'm not going to bother with the full version), and it was pretty fun. As long as they keep the same mechanics, like the nano-suit, I'll be happy. And the physics stuff.. shooting down trees and the like.

I'll definitely pick it up if it comes to consoles, and I'm likely to pick up FarCry2 whenever it comes out.

Well there was a demo running at GDC this year showing off some stuff, LINK click the link to watch the video, looks interesting and shows some really nice effects, but I always get the feeling that the Crytek guys really like to do tech demo stuff.

But with Far Cry 2, Resistance 2 and Killzone 2 PS3 is definatly shaping up to be a FPS paradise .

WhOa there's gonna be a PS3 version? This will be great! How bout a PS3 version of Spore? (dunno how that will work. xD)

Is this also coming to 360? .... wii anyone?

I want to see if this Crysis can look just as good on the PC on max settings as the PS3... is that even possible?

No it won't look as good, but it won't look like crap either. The PS3 is no doubt very powerful but the sheer madness of the graphic output on the PC version will just look better barring you have a system that can run it. The good news about this is the PS3 version will look good enough and allow all of us who don't have $3000 computers to play the game.

I'm yet to see a computer that can run it well, even my buddies SLI'ed 8800GT's struggle at times. The game is just stupidly high end.

Keyboard/Mouse support easy, ps3 allows it if you want it :D

Is it for every game or do some not allow it? I don't really like the PS controller at all, especially for shooting games. A keyboard and mouse would be infinitely more enjoyable.

Sitting on a couch in front of a big screen?

I read the 360 version was shown behind closed doors. More interested in Far Cry 2 as I'm not putting a penny more into my PC. Its old tech now.
