What's up my GTPlanet Weekly Challenge Motherlovers?

This week was light and shadow for me.

All races were done on hard difficulty except for the last one.

First was Japanese FR @ Lago Maggiore West. I chose the beautiful Fairlady '69, on CS tires, tuned to 448PP. And damn, this car feels like it's made for this track! I passed Gallo at the end of the 2nd lap but he didn't give up and was sniffing at my exhaust for the rest of the race which I won by 7 tenths. A fun and close one!

What a beautiful car!

Next was the very French Special Event at the Circuit de Sainte Croix. As usually there's no hint of the state of tuning, so I used my fully built BX on RM tires. Took P1 after exactly 38 seconds, so I guess my choice was a bit overkill, but hey, that's not my fault¯\(ツ)

It was a lonely race

I then headed to the best track there is and ever will be for the recently added Lightweight K-Cup. I already did this a few times in the last weeks, it's definitely one of the better events IMO.
The by far quickest 400PP Kei Car is the Suzuki Carry (which, strangely, is just 385PP) and that's what I chose.
The weather changed a bit later this time and I had already passed Fraga when the heavy rain started pouring down. Played it safe and won comfortably by 13 seconds.

When the weather was still nice

Next was the Ferrari Challenge at Dragon Trail. Last time we had this race I was using the F40, so this time I chose the F50, slightly tuned and on SS tires @ 677PP. And I gotta say it now, I like the F50 more. It just feels better overall and for me this is probably the ultimate Ferrari.
Had a bit of a fight for P2 with Valente in the F12berlinetta. Couldn't pass him on the straights but had the upper hand through the corners. Once I passed him it was rather easy to get to P1 and win the race. I really enjoyed this one a lot, the F50 just feels so good!

Feels amazing, looks amazing, sounds amazing

Last was Group B at Trial Mountain and that's the shadow I was talking about. Not only is this one of the worst paying events in the game, it's also one with the worst AI behavior IMO. They all drive weird and I just don't enjoy this at all. So I hopped into the Mitsubishi and turned the difficulty down to easy to make absolutely sure I don't have to redo this race. FM5 non-stop easy victory.

Me & crazy AI

Got CRB at all races except the Ferrari one, where I had slight contact at - you guessed it - the COD. I just seem to never be able to anticipate how early and heavy AI is braking there.

The car ticket gave me, of course, another VGT and of course it was one without a cockpit - the Peugeot, which I immediately sold for 470k. Not a great price tbh but meanwhile I'm used to this and it's pretty much exactly what I expected.

...
As for me, I'm busy thinking what car to use in the upcoming Corvette VGT one-make event ...

And here's my Weekly Challenge report :

Japanese FR challenge 450
Thought it was a good idea to tackle this with the "Phantom GT-R" that was available at Hagerty's.
Hadn't driven that car before which comes with around 400 PP stock, so in my head this seemed a perfect match.
Sadly PD throws in that golden highly tuned Silvia with J. Imai on the wheel. How absurd ! Facepalm !
I spent some more credits for making my Skyline faster ( 445 PP ) but J. Imai was still out of reach.
And that's when the Shaw brothers from "The Fast & The Furious" came to my mind. Well, to finish this episode :

When I realized that Owen Shaw doesn't cut it against J. Imai ...

... I sent his elder brother Deckard who made short work of it !

Citroen BX one-make event
Ok, I promise, this part's gonna be shorter. The stock BX almost was enough as I missed the podium by a couple of tenths only.
After mounting a race ECU and CS compound the Citrön ( 390 PP ) was perfect for a close race, securing me the win on the final meters.

Kei Car Cup
This might be the only race in the whole GT7 event roster where rain doesn't bother me.
Had an unchallenged win with my N-ONE ( 395 PP ). This race is fun definitely.

Ferrari circuit challenge
No words. Just awe.
For my Dino ( 665 PP ). She'll never let me down.

WC_250815_R4.webp

WRC challenge
Went with my trusty old Impreza RC '98 ( 700 PP ) and decided to do a no stop run on RH and FM6. The whole race was a breeze finishing with a 55 sec gap. After taking the lead, things got boring somehow and I really tried hard to have some extra fun.

Have fun too, everyone. CU !

Nice new rounds of challenges this week, great picks and interesting racing!! And here are the chosen ones:

1. Japanese FR Challenge 450 - Toyota Sports 800 ‘65; 450PP on Sports Hard tires: Again the lower tier cars are the ones getting all the good action! Close and fun racing makes for a very nice appetizer, won comfortably

2. Citroen BX One Make - Citroen BX 19 TRS ‘87; 399PP on Comfort Soft tires: Same setup as the special event race that came with the car, but feeling a curious case of deja vu with this location and a faster car not too long ago, still another good race but more close racing almost the whole lap, good one!

3. Lightweight K-Cup - Suzuki Carry KC ‘12; 399PP on the mandatory Comfor Soft tires: Now this is great racing and a nice great way to flex the wet driving skills! Got 1P before the Karousel but on Dottinger Hohe I was blocking and blocking and blocking!! Talk about sweating under the rain!! A good victory this one was

4. Ferrari Circuit Challenge - Ferrari Testarossa ‘91; 680PP on Sports Soft tires: Yes, McLaren Historic Orange DO looks great on any Ferrari, in my opinion, but racing wise this was the most exciting one because the Testarossa just kicked out at every corner like it was running frozen Comfort Hard tires (this was a setup with RM originally just swapped tires) but still cool to drive and handle, traded paint with some siblings but of course it’s expected between these cars

5. World Rally Challenge Gr.B - Subaru Impreza Rally Car ‘98; 700PP on Racing Mediums: this finally is a great race to end the challenges! Could have easily won this without pitting but the RM tires were shot at lap 7 and was doing more burnouts than necessary; but the battle was with the Audi, we stayed almost trading 1P until we pitted at the same time, then I went all out and bye bye Audi! Great race!

This week the selection was great, amazing even compared to last week, and overall nice mix of scenarios for one to keep it interesting with lots of cars. 6* ticket gave me a Toyota FT VGT which I gifted to Luca and he gifted me back a cool lump sum of credits, such a nice guy

Surprised myself with another Clean Sweep!

I thought about using the Toyota Sports 800 ‘65 myself, but I wasn't sure it would be fast enough once specced up.

Loved the Ferrari challenge. Just picked One fresh 0km Enzo with Soft sport everything else in default. Great ride Enzo is really one of the absolute best car ever made.
I’ve found grippier tires do so much for the handling. With SH it barely wants to turn in, especially at speed. I wonder if SH is the correct tire that PD picked for it.

An enjoyable but relatively easy week, all completed with wins, on hard difficulty.

Japanese FR Challenge 450: Honda S800 - Engine Swapped, CS Tyres, Full custom Suspension, Diff, G'Box and ECU, Racing Brakes. For me, the most enjoyable race of the 5. I do like this car but with the extra power of the engine swap it does want to oversteer when pushed mid corner. Fun race though.
Citroen BX One-Make: Full Racing Tune was definitely overkill, but it was one and done, and to the next.
Lightweight K Cup: Suzuki Carry, racing spec, tuned down to 380PP. Caught and passed Fraga at the beginning of the Kesselchen passage, just as the rain was becoming horizontal! Rain began easing off through the Wipperman and Fraga started eating into my lead from there on, but was unable to catch me. 😁
Ferrari Circuit Challenge: F430 Scuderia - ‘Challenge Series’ spec tuned to 700PP, RM tyres. Love this car, it’s a scalpel. Could probably have won with 430bhp or less.
World Rally Challenge Gr.B: Lancia Delta HF Intergrale Rally. Mid Turbo, RM tyres. Tried stock but lacked power and the pack was moving away. Fitted the mid turbo and was overpowered. Immediately switched to FM6 to keep it interesting, but the win was easy.

6-Star Car roulette ‘rewarded’ me with the ItalDesign VGT Street Mode. 🙄 sold for Cr.503,000.

My ‘Pic of the Week’ goes to the S800 on 2 wheels, up the inside of a Skyline at Lago Maggiore. 😎

I used Comfort Softs on my Enzo, and the car felt great!
Just tested it, feels similar in terms of balance compared to SH, maybe CS a bit more towards oversteer. Have you tried it with Sports Medium? That’s the sweet spot for me. Along with some camber changes.

Nope, i played over midnight when it refreshed thurs night. Think that has messed everything up.
Yep, that's the other way to do it. Oddly, it wasn't until relatively recently.
