PS3 game renderings.

It sounds like a real game title, and those look like real PS3 still images to me. Not that I've seen a lot to compare to, but why can't it be real? So what if the graphics card ain't done yet. They can still simulate one to do get the job done.

Anyway, here's a different PS3 game in the works. Looks like another RE clone.

The article says it's an opposite of games like Resdent Evil. You control the zombies....... it actually doens't sound very fun.

Are you sure, PS3 dev kits have been around for a good few months now. Anyhow, it doesn't really matter if the cards been finished yet as long as the specs finalised since the dev kits run on PC's.
 
I'd imagine the PS3's graphics will look better than that, since as people have stated, the hardware is not final. And, if the PS3 isn't out by this holiday season, then it would have to get beefier specs than the X-Box 360, unless they want the PS3 to flop.

And HL2 still looks better (on a top of the line PC), eventhough it is an FPS, but I'd expect a next gen console to have graphics that are a good distance ahead of anything a good PC could do at launch time.

One question, IF (Big If by the sounds of it) those are real PS3 renders, will alot of violent games have to be banned/toned down? As much as movies are real action, I think control of a life-like person on a life-like killing spree is too much.

Well I guess movies have to be banned too. They depict "realistic" violence.
 
I don't think games can be banned, but government probably would be forced to enforce more strict rating system. And you know there will be conservative groups filing lawsuits and calling for boycotts. :indiff:

Are you saying that has your opinion or do you know something we don't? I've seen stlll images of HL2 and they are fantastic. They look just like what I've imagined what great quality games on the PS3 will look like.
 
And fortunately for us crappy PC´s owners, Half Life 2 is confirmed to be released on PS3. So I´ll get to play it in like 3 years or so....

I gotta get an Xbox, it´s better to play the crappy version than wait 3 years.

I'm just speculating here. HL2 should look absolutely stunning on the PS3, especially if Valve gets HDR going for it.
 
I suspect that the graphics on both next gen systems will be better than that.....Sony was claiming that they were going to increase the power by like a thousand......they said they were fed up of taking 'small' steps in gaming system development and wanted to move to top end PC power level....I really do think that the graphics can be better than those shown in the pictures.....

shouldnt Nvidia have completed the graphics card for the PS3 by now!!! leaving it abit late!

BTW......I agree this game does look alot like midtown madness...

I remember Sony and analysis talking about the power of Cell compared to the current PCs. It is suppose to make them look bad is what seems to be it right now. If Half-Life 2 can be good or better than those pictures, then I will imagine how the Cell will power the PS3 to make HL2 look bad! :embarrassed:
 
Sony also said the PS2 would be 100 times faster than the PSX and 3 times faster than the best PC at the time (Say a 700mhz Athlon?), which was bollocks.
 
This isn't relevant to the PS3 but I see some people think that graphics will get to the stage where they are "as good" or even "better" than real life. The whole point of playing a game is to get away from real life. The graphics of a game help to do this. If you had graphics that looked like real life then I think it would make the game less enjoyable.

Again, if those graphics reflect those that will be on PS3 then brilliant. But let's not go too far. :P
 
D*mn, that looks amazingly close to the NFS and Madden pictures I posted.
IF that's what nVidia's special chip can do, then DAMN!!!

Imagine in 5 years what games will look like. Can't wait to see NFS like that.

I disagree. Movies are also intended to get you away from real life, to give you fantasy. Life-like graphics wouldn´t ruin a game, it would make it even better in my opinion. Games are about doing things you can´t in real life, like drive super cars, manage a major football club, fight monsters, that kind of stuff.
 
I'd love graphics to be as close to reality as possible, but this doesn't mean you can't have both. Can always have stylised graphics which are still great but not 'realistic'.

But come on, wouldn't it be cool playing say Gran Turismo ;) with real-life emotional graphics TM . Although I'm sure the AI would still be dumb. GTA would also be cool, but I'd worry about the emotionally unstable idiotic kids that shouldn't even be playing it, that might confuse it with reality :dunce:
 
The Ps3 is said to have a 4.3 GHZ processor....Which is ALOT faster than most processors out today....


The X box 360 is said to have 3 3.0GHZ processors......So if Micro has the sync workin on them good, which they probably will...Chances are it'll blow the 4.3 out of the water.

I think the evolution of console gaming will come to a stop when you are in real life, but playing with your console.

The graphics will be like real life, you will have to run or walk if it's a GTA game, 360 degree view, and everything that makes our experience more realistic.

You started with saying it was my opinion then you ended with a statement that wasn't needed.

Maybe I should revise my statement. Sure, games like Gran Turismo or Pro Evolution Soccer would look great with real-life graphics but if videogames have no effect on real violence at the moment do you think that will still stand if games like GTA or Manhunt looked like real people?
 
That car in the first pic looks like a Holden Monaro Body, Ford BA Falcon tail lights and a Mazda 6 front. Weird.

Anyway, i hope to god that this is what the games will look like on the ps3.. I mean, it's just a render, but if we can see that level of detail and graphics *in the game while playing* then i'm probably going to shart me panties. :eek:
 
wow.. outer detail doesnt do enough for me. Lemme see one of those cars blown in half from C4 planted inside... Or a man shot by a 50cal rifle in the shoulder: the bullet ripping through the fabric of his shirt among other things. And i guess a intelligent AI demo would be nice.
