Hey Guys

Having ditched Shift 2 due to it freezing and having other issues, and needing a break from GT5, i decided to go and buy me some other games on my trusty PS3. Ive never been one for the RPG/Open World kind of game (is there a difference), so i figured id spend some well earned money and get a few, just to see what they are like.

Here is the list of games i bought.

Uncharted 2
GTA 4 Complete Edition
Fallout 3 GOTY
Fallout New Vegas
Oblivion GOTY
Borderlands GOTY
Red Dead Redemption (probably my fav as of now)
Dragon Age Origins. (whats with the framerate/choppyness??)
Assasins Creed 2

Now my issue is that since ive installed them, and played each for around an hour or so, im actually enjoying them immensly. So much so that im stuck as to what the heck im gonna do regards getting around to playing them all.

Do you guys think its best for me to stick with one game and play it through to the end, then move onto the next? Or should i just play each one for a few hours here and there, and hopefully i will remember the plots and storylines of all?.

Its one of those times where i should of thought of this little dilema before buying them.

Thanks.

Oh man. You bought some seriously great games.

My opinion is biased, but I've played most of those games. Oblivion. The second game I ever bought for my PS3, 230 hours into it and still haven't finished it. Amazing, huge open world, immersing and fun.

Then I'd say Uncharted 2 (great game), then Fallout 3, then AC2 then FNV.

Then the rest. :P You have hundreds of hours of fun with those games, good luck! :scared:

One question on Assassin's Creed 2, do you have the first one? I'm assuming so since you are jumping straight into number 2.

My advice on the subject, however is play what you love. I have games sitting on my PS3 HDD that haven't been played because I bought it for relatives when I visited their houses, come over to my place, ect. Sure I touch them myself from time to time, but they go untouched because those are the kinds of games that my family loves.

Yes i did have the first AC, but somehow it got lost in a move, and i didnt replace it. Only played around 5 hours of it as well. After that GT4 and GT5 P took over all my gaming time. When GT5 came out that took up most if not all for ages as well.

Im thinking i will be playing RDR a lot as that is really cool. Love the old western feel to the game. That said, the others are really cool also :dunce: I guess i should play them as i feel, as they wont be going anywhere. All seem to be keepers and not traders. Not until the PS4 comes out anyway. Im assuming it wont be backwards compatable with PS3 games as seems the norm.

Thanks

What I do is I usually try to play one game all the way through, and then when I feel I've squeezed every last drop out of it, I buy a new one. If I happen to come into a little money at the end of the week, then I might treat myself in advance. The danger is having too big a backlog, so try and discipline yourself to play one game at a time.

Wow 230 hours huh?. I hope you take breaks and get up and move around after extended periods?.

I read someplace that a gamer actually died from Deep Vein Thrombosis after sitting down for too long over time. Dont wanna scare anyone reading that though.

Must be a great game. I look forward to getting into it when i get around to it. :)

Well, a game save counts the total cumulative hours you've played a game. I bought the game in the first half of 2007 (Oblivion is actually one of the oldest PS3 games out there), but that doesn't mean I played 230 hours in one go, or for long sessions, no offense but that's a pretty big assumption you made. :P

That's 230 hours in more than 4 years. Not too bad, right? that's less than 10 days time in more than 1000 days.

In fact, I'm sure we'd both be surprised if GT games had counters like that.

I know no one can play for 230 hours straight. I just read what you said and it reminded me of that story is all.

230 hours put into any game is a heck of a lot, and i hope you got a lot of enjoyment from playing it for so long. 👍

Well, if you're into RPGs just play it. I consider it the best game I've ever played. 👍

Speaking of which, I might need to finish it before Skyrim comes out...

He played for 18 hours a day without ever getting up except to use the bathroom, eat 2 times a day and sleep.....

Secondly I'd start with Uncharted 2 first simply because completion is a lot quicker than Oblivion. Also because if you do fall in love with it Uncharted 3 comes out in November so you can jump right into that if you would like.

Yeah isnt Skyrim out on 11 11 11 or something like that?.

What version will you be getting that on btw?. PC or console?.

PC this time around. Consoles lose way too much when you consider addons and mods, the mod community is huge.

If you can run it that's the way to go. I have but 300 hours over 3 characters into Demon's Souls's that was in a span of 4 months :(. I would get home from work eat, play DS till after my bed time repeat it for months. One of the best games I've ever played.

But thats waaaay too many long games in one shot lol. you could play them all for a year. I have all of them but Uncharted, haven't finished any of them.

Demon's Souls missed the cut I see :)

Here's my take on your listed games.

Uncharted 2 - Just play when your in the mood for an hour or so.

GTA 4 Complete Edition - Same as above,Maybe a bit longer for each session.

Fallout 3 GOTY
Fallout New Vegas - These can be grouped together. Expect to play these for hundreds of hours each! Be warned with New Vegas, it is as buggy and glitchy as anything.
Oblivion GOTY

Borderlands GOTY - Very fun, especially when you get the online co=op with decent other players.

Red Dead Redemption (probably my fav as of now) - Same as gta and uncharted 2, but you can play it for a bit longer in each session.

Dragon Age Origins. (whats with the framerate/choppyness??) _ never played it,

Assasins Creed 2 - Should be able to plat this in around 20 - 30 hours, great game, but short.

To be honest ive never heard of Demons Souls until i read your message. After a quick trip to google to see what its all about i just went onto Amazon and ordered it. Should be here mid week. :)

Thanks for the suggestion. 👍

Hopefully it lives up to all the rave reviews i read. Oh i should add i bought it for the PS3, though i doubt my PC would not run it.
