As far as I know, voice chat during races, will be implemented in the GT5! I consider this as a very cool feature and I'm willing to invest on a decent PS3 compatible headset. (PC compatibility - skype for example - is welcomed too...)

I get used to play the GT5P with a headset as i mostly play late at night... so I would be interested in buying a quality headset which will combine the voice chat feature in PS3 (and GT5 of course)!

Any suggestions are welcomed, thank you in advance:)!

Are you talking about stereo headphones or a mono bluetooth headset, because 25$ sounds unexpectedly good...

I am looking about something like this (maybe a little cheaper...)

i was talking about the mono bluetooth headset.

Seems you looking for a more professional solution though

The one you linked looks awesome

Get one with headphones that has game sound aswell. Bluetooth heasets usually get muted. but if you do want one get a jabrA FOR £5 OR SOMETHING

You could buy the official Playstation one but any Bluetooth Headset will work. I use a Sony Ericsson and I think its excellent.

There is also the option of buying the PS Eye which has a microphone array.

My wife bought a Logitech ClearChat Comfort USB for one of her classes she's taking online. I haven't given it a go on the PS3 yet, but it looks promising. I also have a Jabra BT125 that has worked well in the past.

He wants a full headset solution that will output both the game sound, voice chat and have a microphone.

I'm not 100% sure if usb headsets work, but if they do, the Creative Fatality USB headsets reasonably cheap and good quality, the mic especially is very good, I got the one with 3.5mm jacks instead of the usb but I play the sound from the PS3 through my PC soundcard (so i can use my pcs surround sound mostly) and through my headset from the pc's jacks, and sounds good.

They only work for chat, it's impossible to get any gaming audio out of USB in PS3, USB is only for voice-chat.

I think that Sennheiser PC 360 and Astro Mixamp could be a very strong candidate for one of the best headphone+mic+soundcard combination for PS3. Bit pricey of course, about 180€+130€.

Some games have the option to put the voice chat through the game sound (I think COD4 was one of them). In that case the PS Eye would work but im unsure if this is a given on all PS3 games.

Robin.

I have the Turtle beach head set.
Seperate Game volume and chat volume.
Extra bass.

Works with PS3,PC and Xbox.

Turtle beach PX -21 model.

I have these too. I think they are excellent, especially considering they were around $70.

I have a set of the Turtle Beach as well, Great headphones but the microphone boom is a bit cheap. Fortunately it is a flex boom so you can move it to your mouth as it just hangs at the lowest setting now. Great headphones for the money, the only downfall to using a Bluetooth headset is battery life. I have a Jawbone 2 that I like and use, but after about 2hrs it has to go back on the charger for ~30min.

if i were you i would get the astro a30s. they are approved by mlg (professional gamers) and dolby, they are pc, ps3, 360 compatible via usb, but you can remove the mic and the usb, and just plug them into your mp3 player via standard jack.

and they look pretty sweet. check out the limited edition gran turismo ones.

How is the surround on the AX Pro?
Pretty good when you get the settings right. Having to adjust all four channels + time delay makes getting the surround right pretty tricky, but when you do it's awesome.

Can't wait to play GT5 with my pair :D

Anybody know when the official PS3 headset 2.0 will be on the marked in Europe? The US playstation blog announced this only for US, and nothing to find in the European blog. Any clues?

I think it looks awesome and I like the improvements made on it. I want to buy it, as I have a surround sound system already and just need it for chat.
