Was thinking of the idea to make a public room on PS3 home, just for GTP users to chill. VOTE ON IT PLZ:dopey:

If you don't know what "HOME" is, basically has an interface similar to that game "The Sims" where you create your character and just chat, you can also share vids and pics from you PS3 HDD :sly:

If yes then I guess I'll make it this weekend and keep you updated then:tup:

I voted on "GOOD IDEA", and I do think it's a decent Idea and I'd like to be a part of it, as long as people promise to only share videos from the PS3 HDD of their laps in GT: HD / GT5 and their Porn collection! :P lol...

I am so sure that "HOME" is going to be filled with a LOT of X-Rated movies eventually!

On a serious note, - I hope not! It's not the most innovative feature, but it's a nice thing for free. And chicks dig things like this at times, so all fugly nerds's who own a PS3, having hot younger (adult enough) sister's, would hang out there and i'll be like "How You Doin'?"

sounds like fun i'm for it, i voted good idea 👍

i'm still learning gt : hd have not begun yet to beat times, cause i wanna see how low they can get the times :D before going real driving !!

and have fun driving, good luck to everyone in gt : HD :) and welcome to it

I was waiting for this kind of thread to be created, I said a while back it would be great to have a Home GTP clubhouse, here are some of my big plans!

1. GTPlanet theme throughout maybe swooping navy and red with yellow pinstripe like the site, a faded out GTP Globe logo on the wall, all this stuff I mean like that wallpaper or bits of wall.

2. Beautiful photomode pictures on the wall from GT, maybe the competition winners on the site, also screens around showing winning race series laps! or even GTHD trailers

3. An automotive theme, maybe like trophy cabinets, car models, hanging steering wheels and other general stuff (if Sony creates it or if stuff can be user created).

4. An AI generated doorman who welcomes you or tells non members what its about and how they can sign up... he or she can maybe say good morning and good afternoon to you when you go in like a proper club..... also have generated waiters and stuff!!

5. A separate premium members lounge off the main clubhouse so they can have special converstations, just like on the site.

6. GTP clothing and apparel on Home which you can wear around.

8. Game machines!

9. An in clubhouse computer room (internet cafe) which you sit down on and it instantly links you to the GTP site on your PS3's browser.

It would ba amazing, I can already imagine how it would look! like a proper elite club and show how big a part of GT and Playstation that we are...

What are your thoughts??

Robin :)

Oh and this thread should probably be in the Playstation 3 Forum.

LOL Interesting:sly: ... but yeah I don't think turning the GTP HOME room into a dating service is a good idea lol:nervous: . I'm sure there will be others around:tup:

Ya those are really good ideas Robin, and yeah I'll copy this post into the PS3 forum ty:tup:

Dude, Red_Line, that was just supposed to be a joke, lol! :D

I love the idea and the inputs from Robin were pretty cool aswell!

NVM there is already a large thread for HOME on the PS3 board.
I've moved this thread into the PS3 forum, which is a better place for it. The existing thread on PS Home is more about discussing PS Home in general as opposed to the issue you've raised - the idea of a GTP Clubroom has been mooted several times already and definitely warrants further discussion...
---

I've always been in favour of this idea in one form or another, but there are one or two major considerations... in theory it's a great idea and the possibilities are exciting - but it might be harder than you think to actually do it successfully. By that I mean it will be pretty difficult to recreate the GTP experience in PS Home, for several reasons. There will be no mods or admin staff for a kick-off - that might sound like heaven to some people, but I think most people would agree (after a cursory glance at unmoderated web forums) that things can get pretty messy pretty fast without some form of moderation/staffing or centralised organisation... This could be a problem depending on how 'content-rich' such an environment is. Since no member of the actual GTP staff can possibly have any actual authority in the PS Home environment (atleast by my reckoning anyway), it would probably end up more like an open-access Wikipedia-style endeavour, where anyone could do whatever they saw fit... it remains to be seen how Sony will elect to 'moderate' PS Home however... that could be 'interesting'...

Arguably more important, however, is that there will doubtless be more than one GTP-based area, and as such (I'm speculating here), any 'official' or central GTP-based PS Home clubroom would almost certainly require the agreement of the site owner, Jordan, about the use of his site name, logos and other intellectual property... (not just for legal reasons, but also as a simple courtesy!) It will certainly be interesting to try it out, though, but I'm coming to the conclusion that PS Home spaces and communal clubrooms will probably be more about the people who are running them and less about the subject that brought those people together in the first place (in our case, Gran Turismo)...

Still, it would be wise to wait atleast until Home is on general release or a large scale beta trial at the very earliest...

edit 1: Reading this back, I want to emphasise that I still think it's a great idea - I don't want to sound like I'm pissing on anyone's parade, here! - but I reckon if it's worth doing, it's worth doing well... the good name of GTP deserves nothing less...

edit 2: The idea of 'Premium' areas is an interesting one aswell - but again, it's more likely that people can create their own areas and pick and choose whoever they want to be a part of that area. I reckon any GTP-based clubroom would have to be fully inclusive as opposed to exclusive in any way...

Shorter Answer: Good idea, but not yet...

It don't have to be a big thing, just a place where GTP People meet. Just think of a room where you can walk up to anyone and talk about hitting the apex, tuning cars, choice of car and all those things.

It has to be Official GTP, impossible to create the right feeling if i know from the back of my head that it's a copy. Like a replica Ferrari or something.
