I've moved this thread into the PS3 forum, which is a better place for it. The existing thread on PS Home is more about discussing PS Home in general as opposed to the issue you've raised - the idea of a GTP Clubroom has been mooted several times already and definitely warrants further discussion...
---
I've always been in favour of this idea in one form or another, but there are one or two major considerations... in theory it's a great idea and the possibilities are exciting - but it might be harder than you think to actually do it successfully. By that I mean it will be pretty difficult to recreate the GTP experience in PS Home, for several reasons. There will be no mods or admin staff for a kick-off - that might sound like heaven to some people, but I think most people would agree (after a cursory glance at unmoderated web forums) that things can get pretty messy pretty fast without some form of moderation/staffing or centralised organisation... This could be a problem depending on how 'content-rich' such an environment is. Since no member of the actual GTP staff can possibly have any actual authority in the PS Home environment (atleast by my reckoning anyway), it would probably end up more like an open-access Wikipedia-style endeavour, where anyone could do whatever they saw fit... it remains to be seen how Sony will elect to 'moderate' PS Home however... that could be 'interesting'...
Arguably more important, however, is that there will doubtless be more than one GTP-based area, and as such (I'm speculating here), any 'official' or central GTP-based PS Home clubroom would almost certainly require the agreement of the site owner, Jordan, about the use of his site name, logos and other intellectual property... (not just for legal reasons, but also as a simple courtesy!) It will certainly be interesting to try it out, though, but I'm coming to the conclusion that PS Home spaces and communal clubrooms will probably be more about the people who are running them and less about the subject that brought those people together in the first place (in our case, Gran Turismo)...
Still, it would be wise to wait atleast until Home is on general release or a large scale beta trial at the very earliest...
edit 1: Reading this back, I want to emphasise that I still think it's a great idea - I don't want to sound like I'm pissing on anyone's parade, here! - but I reckon if it's worth doing, it's worth doing well... the good name of GTP deserves nothing less...
edit 2: The idea of 'Premium' areas is an interesting one aswell - but again, it's more likely that people can create their own areas and pick and choose whoever they want to be a part of that area. I reckon any GTP-based clubroom would have to be fully
inclusive as opposed to
exclusive in any way...
Shorter Answer: Good idea, but not yet...
