hey

well i have an orignal 60GB PS3 (still) and the wireless connection on it seams to be getting worse..and i was wondering what would be the best possible solution to getting a wired connection to it.

the most ovibous would be to run a cable from the router but i really dont want to do that...as its downstairs the other side of the house. but i do already have 1 cable connected to my computer (right under the PS3). now would i need to get another router to plug that cable into then 2 seprate ones from that to my PS3 and PC. or would some kind of splitter work?..and still allow both to be connected to the internet at the same time? its rare that i need both connected but sometimes when one is downloading i use the other so can come in handy

thanks in advance for any help

How many computers are there connected to the router?

If yours is the only one, or the other computers are closer to your room than the router, move the router to your room, and connect everything from there.

You don't need a router, you just need a switch like this. This would work perfectly as you already have a network cable run to your PC, you'd just need some short CAT 5 cables to go from the switch to the PC and the PS3.

I have a switch under my desk at work that provides network access to 3 (and occasionally more) desktops all at the same time. It'll work fine. Keep in mind, though, that if you're downloading something on the PC, there will be that much less available for the PS3 and vice versa.
