After all these YLOD topics I decided to take apart my 80GB PS3 to change the thermal compound. The later fat PS3s have a diferent cooling system, cheaper which consists of two small silver sinks on the bottom of the case. The thermal compound was not dry after more than a year of use, so that was ok, but I've got much better thermal grease(coolink brand) so I changed it anyway and put everything back together and now I feel safe although I didn't need to worry about it in the first place but I never knew. The good thing with the later PS3s is they are easier to take apart in order to change the grease there, there's no need to take everything out of the case, the motherboard is halfway through and easily reached.
