I know that some PS3 game saves are locked to a PSN ID. But I'm planning on upgrading the hard drive in my PS3, and I'm wondering whether the save backups that I am going to make will work on the new hard drive. I'm going to be using the same PSN ID and the same PS3 profile. The games I'm most concerned about are MGS4, LittleBigPlanet, and Resistance 2.

I've upgraded my HDD twice and haven't seen this happen. GH3/4, RFoM, GT5P, BO:P mostly.

I think the only game that has locked saves is burnout paradise so you should be ok

Did you read my post ?... I've upgraded, twice, without a locked BO:P save...
Use the backup utility for backup and restore and everything should be fine - Even saves you the hassle of entering / remembering your PSN password...

There's a few others, such as SCIV, I believe, but yeah, as long as you're signed into the correct account, that should be the only verification the save needs.
