You can’t trust these aliens, “swivel chair” = “Full Motion Rig”, clamped is alien talk for “hydroneumatic inverted pedals”, T598 is the star cluster he comes from.I think you have me mistaken for a pro driver. My setup is T598 clamped to a $80 Office desk, and a swivel chair![]()
@half_sourly I think this calls for a new stat: performance per cost. Not only is @Metalgear9493 scorching fast, he’s way under the salary cap 😂I think you have me mistaken for a pro driver. My setup is T598 clamped to a $80 Office desk, and a swivel chair![]()
Just so that nobody feels bad about their driving hardware...
The same rig I have been using since 2007, as seen back in 2021.

Only changes since the photo was taken are the replacement of the PS4 with the PS5, the PSVR2 hanging about, and a spare torque converter full of fluid in a box weighing down the front of the pedals. Don't have a more recent one on my phone and I'm still at my desk at work.
Will open a room this evening to wrap up collecting some data, somewhere around 8PM seems to be the trajectory at this time. Anyone who is free is welcome to join. I'm not...
That ain't what he's using now though.
Ya'll should check some of the discussion after however.
Cool place to store your ps5, I need to get an entertainment center like that or save up for one. But that's if I want to do it though. The only thing about using the wheel is the pressing on the pedals frequently which could cause leg/foot cramps for me, that's why I didn't buy another one. I remember back in 2002 my stepdad bought me my first wheel when I had the Playstation 2, I got it for gt3 and NFS Hot Pursuit 2. I had to press on the brakes a lot and turn the wheel which caused some cramps in my arms, legs and feet which freaked the hell out of me. I used it up until 2004 until I finally sold my wheel to someone. I tolerated the pain for 2 years until I couldn't anymore.
That's hilarious.
If you sit slightly higher or lower/forward or back and hold the options button you can re position the VR camera which helps with things like rev counter visibility or shift lights in some cars etc.The RX7 isn't bad for a road car, a bit tail happy, but the only real downside is: i can't see the upper part of the rev counter in VR (the view is blocked by the steering wheel). Might not be the cars fault, but more the lack of options in the game to adjust the driver position or even the position of the steering wheel (i don't know if the car has this option, but japanese cars are usualy pretty well equipped).
First lap on the track and i spun 3 times! 🤦♂️ Took some time to get used to that agile rear axle.
But my biggest problem is called: TRACK LIMITS! I can count the not invalidated laps on one hand after that 1st session.
Usualy in the AMG Arena or that chicane at pit entry is where the lap time turns red. That's why i drive pretty carefully at those spots and loose a lot of time. My optimal is 7 tenths faster than my actual best lap:

Maybe a 2:03 is possible for me, i just don't know if i have the patience for that.
Thanks a lot for those tips!If you sit slightly higher or lower/forward or back and hold the options button you can re position the VR camera which helps with things like rev counter visibility or shift lights in some cars etc.
Just as an FYI incase you didn’t see it, you don’t rev the car out and can shift anywhere from 6,500 to 7,500 which is before the hard limiter and even the shift chime.
Endless racing driver excuses ... and then post a lap time that is position 107! 😜A: Sketchy as ****
B: Gear-change-Shortshift-adapt-brain-problems
C: Beep........Beep........Beep....
D: Chicane = ****
Don't know if it's the same on the pad but i'm going to give that a shot, thanks 😉Use CSA Gomario and it becomes a hole different car, actually driveable. @Gomario JSP
Seems your autocorrect is set to American. “tires”, I can only assume because the site is American and the majority of the audience. This is the discussion thread for an article on GTPlanet:

It's not autocorrect. I type in American because, yes, the site is American.Seems your autocorrect is set to American. “tires”, I can only assume because the site is American and the majority of the audience.
I didn’t know there was a US version of “aesthetic”, or is it just hard for yanks to say, like “maths”?It's not autocorrect. I type in American because, yes, the site is American.
I won't budge on "aesthetic" though, and do occasionally drop in some not entirely Transatlantic idiom just to confuse @Jordan
No, quite a few of us use proper Kings English...I didn’t know there was a US version of “aesthetic”, or is it just hard for yanks to say, like “maths”?
You make the call whether you will be setting a new personal best lap. If yes, stay in 3rd gear. Whenever I did this, I restarted for next lap.A question to anyone who could answer:
- When entering onto the main straight as per the lap guides, it's been suggested to start the lap in 4th gear but when finishing that lap, it's suggested to stay in 3rd gear crossing the finishing line. So does this need to be on alternate laps? Because either You stay in 3rd or 4th when crossing the line to finish/start a new lap!
