Today i just read the patch 1.10 for GT5. (http://us.gran-turismo.com/us/news/d5595.html) I noticed that it said, "* Please update the PS3 system software to 3.65 before you update the game." I already downloaded the patch but, the thing is that i have the PS3 patch 3.61. Gt5 still runs smooth but, should i download the ps3 patch 3.65? If i do install the patch 3.65 will it ruin my ps3? What do you guys think? Also do you guys have patch 3.65?

I was thinking about this for a good while as I didn't update my PS3 before patch 1.10. I've come to the conclusion, through hearing about the so many problems people have had with 3.65, we shouldn't update the PS3 until the next version. That's just what I'm going to do because everything on GT5 is running smoothly for me at the moment.

Yup same here. But it said, "New for 3.65: System stability during use of some PlayStation®3 format software has been improved." (stated here: http://us.playstation.com/support/systemupdates/ps3/) So should i?

Im in the same boat. I was. Going to do the same. Wait till the next gt5 update then do the psn udate first.

I didn't know about the psn update until afterwards. I dont want to uninstall so I was hoping this would work for me.

So i guess the safe thing to do is wait for the new ps3 patch or should i go ahead and download it?

I had the 3.65 before the GT5 patch and it works great.
Did you download the ps3 patch first then download the patch for gt5 or vice versa?

I really think the worst thing that could happen is that you would have to delete all the patches and download them again.
I have friends that also did it backwards with no problems.
I say if you don't currently have any issues with the game or the PSN you should just let it be though.

It's just that A LOT of people have been having trouble with their PS3's after installing 3.65.
It's not worth it, until you think you need to have it installed. It isn't a mandatory update.

That's comforting to hear at least.

So if i play another game for example Grand Theft Auto 4 and it requires a patch will i need to download 3.65?

I wouldn't know about that unless the game MAKES you install it before letting you play. I've seen this happen before, I just can't remember why.

Problems with update 3.65

I updated to 3.65 a few days after I got the 1.10 patch for GT5 and have not had any problems.
After I got the 1.10 patch loading i GT5 was a bit slow.
But updating the system software to 3.65 has made it much faster.
