It depends on taxes, average income ect. It's like here in the UK I think the average income is higher than in the US, we also pay VAT on everything at 17.5%, so if we buy an item that should be say £30 it would be sold for £35.25, or £35.99 most likely because the shop would round it up. The VAT puts the price up straight away, the higher income average, means on average we can afford more, so instead of letting us afford more we pay more for the same. This is ofcourse all generalised, there are instances where items are cheaper here than the US, mainly due to the fact it was built here and shipped to wherever though. The higher the average income and the higher ammount of taxes have to be paid the more expensive an item will be in that country.
