I think the most important thing Microsoft forgot about is ...
ME
Yes, plain old Kent.
Or my buddy Joe (who owns an xbox already).
Neither of us have high-speed net connections.
I don't think either of us will have one for some time to come.
However, is that a problem?
Apparently for MS it is.
In fact, it seems like microsoft's key component to gaming isn't the system itself, but the internet instead.
Sure that makes halo fun (which I play all the time on a different friend's system).
But really, when the biggest selling point of your system relies on the net, you may actually be in trouble when compared with a console king like sony.
That has even more wieght when the competition (sony) has finally managed to match or beat the tech levels of the box.
Bottom line for me:
Xbox 360 seems to be selling on anything other than the system... The net, connectivity, media management....
PS3 on the other hand seems to be stressing the system and the games... The net, connectivity, media management... all those seems to be secondary aspects.
Based on that view of priorities I am going to have to say that Sony has their priorities alligned with my own... MS seems to have their priorities alligned with, well, MS's goals.
oh and one more thing...
MS may be in for some real trouble if Sony gets online gaming even close to right.
I mean, just think about it... The net is the biggest component of Xbox 360 and if PS3 manages to deliever solid online play...
