PS3 Video Issues?

So I bought a new PS3 last night to give GT5 another shot and to get GT6. I also bought a cheap LED TV (29 inch 720p).

I am getting choppy video. I have set the system to 720 and the TV to "Gaming."

The weird part is I just had another PS3 a few weeks ago and another TV, same make, different size, it was 1080p but still 60hz and it ran smooth as day.

Is it the TV? I may try another HDMI cable. GT5 gets choppy in races with a lot going on, it just seems unclear.

Any ideas?
