well, yeah, been with this idea in mind for a LONG time, and now that I discover it may have some entries beside mine, I will give it a go.
I dont really think that this event will have a lot of entries, but hey, It might just soak in. everyone who is interested in giving this a try is absolutely welcome. We will chop a variety of cars, from this week's Pebble beach winning Bugatti, to muscle cars passing trough 50s Fins, race cars of yore and maybe even 70s and 80s econoboxes. suggestions are always welcome, so feel free to PM me. and well, there are really no rules, anything goes, altough full-on conversions would be better. thare havent been a century in car design development just because. be inventive and different, be creative. after ALL the moder day PSCs there are, this is a very good chance to be unique and creative.
So there. lets go for this first week's victim, a 1935 Bugatti type 57SC Atlantic, winner of this year's Pebble Beach Best of show award. one of the most beautiful automobiles ever built, IMO.

:D

Hmm... To bastardize or not, therein lies the question...

well, I had the idea of sectioning this car since yesterday. a completely custom made grille and front panel, a slightly chopped top, reworked rear fenders and, of course, air suspension, set this cutom way apart from anything else. wheels and tires are off some George Barris custom 41 Buick Roadmaster. And yeah, its a blaspberry glow custom color :D

Really nice chop Cano. :D
Something wrong about the front tire though... Too big or something. Nothing major, It's way cool like this ;)

well this is what i have. I call it Bugatti in the 21st century, if it wasnt owned by Volkswagen. Or maybe I should just call it the worst chop i've ever made:banghead: I was hoping to turn it into a hot rod, t-bucket style, but i couldn't find a suitable image to pull from. If someone has a high-res image of something like that, similar angle, i would be a very happy person indeed.

Pysched for next week, though.

oh yeah and very nice cano. you have some skill:bowdown:

hahaha, hey, that looks pretty cool!!!
and, well, yeah. looking for pics to get parts out of can be tricky, so I will help you a little.
- www.seriouswheels.com has a complete section dedicated to hot rods and customs, and the images are all 800x600, the smaller ones. go check it out.
- www.classics.com, the source of the victim, has also a good selection of good car pics.
- http://www.velocityjournal.com/ also has some good stuff.
-Finally, for persoal photography of hot rods and customs @ shows, go to www.fotki.com, its a photosharing place, just like, say, imagestation. in there make a search for "street rod" "custom" "hot rod" or whatever you want. once you find something that you like, cjeck if the member has the option "get original uploaded photo" as most of the times those are BIGASS pics, usually 1000+ pixels each, and they have cool cars (photos from most goodguys shows) and good photos, too. one member you should visit is Dave Lindsay. he is even atthe "most visited members" are in fotki. go check it out.

Sunny, if you didnt blur it that much, it would look good! but it cant be really apreciated.

Ryan, it's flying. So I have to have the blur.

Well, IMO, it's a bit too much blur. You can't really see the car all that well.
