Wow. Sony's marketing department really blows, but I laughed hard.

That'll get banned given time and numerous complaints from the coloured community.

My opinion, its so freakin pointless to release systems in different colours.

Yeah, I've heard some people complain that these ads are racist. Here is another one that popped up, people are saying is sexist AND racist:

I still prefer the black one though. I dislike the iPod in white, so I don't think I'll like the white one any better.

I would laugh SO hard if they put (your person's white splooges here) in tiny font in random locations on the poster.

Yeah, I gotta say I prefer my black PS2 and PSP, to any of the other colours. Although I'd probably go for something outrageous like neon green. lol

Yeah, if they made a Barcalona Away PSP, that would own.

Yikes. They must've been going for the shock-value. With a exciting product like PSP in alternate color, I don't think they needed any controversy to sell.

I'm looking forward to seeing the advert for the pink one... :sly:

I think the background music will be a certain track by DJ Assault. hint: It's not ass & titties; it's the other one.

WTF, though. The "white" PSP clearly still has a black screen. Might as well call it mulatto station portable.

What's racist in that?
Yeah, I thought the same thing. I can clearly see why it's sexist though - white girlfriend "bits", with the little camera at the bottom of the add.

Surely though, Sony must be as thick as two planks to be able to get away with this without getting a lot of complaints. The whole "let's kill racism" thing the world is trying to do at the moment, especially with the current World Cup running at the moment giving the same messages...

Actually think that one is more sexist than racist... although above all, it seems to be implying that PSP buyers are predominately males who might want to use their consoles for viewing their naughty pictures... how very dare they!

Please tell me thats sarcasim?

Many foreign adds are like that for things as minor as washing detergant.

I would buy a white PSP simply for the imporved d-pad and buttons.

If there were the Jacked Up awards, this comment would be at the top of the nominations.

I mean, it's not offering a better screen, nor it's lighter, nor is it smaller. And if you get that, that's another $200 flushed down the toilet.

Notice how the comment starts with "I". No its not worth buying if you own a black one already. I'd trade in the old one that still worth $100 at Gamestop. So I'd be paying $100 for a newer system with higher quality buttons that will be better in the long run. Had my PSP for a year and I play it almost everyday and the d-pad isnt very good anymore thanks to Street Fighter Alpha3 .

1. Who says the white PSP will have improved buttons anyway?

2. Even paying $100 for an "upgrade" to a white PSP is nuts. So what if the buttons are a bit better quality? All that means is that the buttons will wear down a few more months down the road. At least with the DS Lite, you spend $70 to upgrade, you get a much more scratch resistant touch screen, you get much clearer and brighter screens, the DS is more portable, and it looks tons better. That's an upgrade.

The square button gets stuck and doesn't press properly because it's so near the screen. Apparently this problem is fixed with the white one, and the buttons are slightly better overall (not too sure on the details of the improvement though). Not that I've had trouble with the buttons anyway...

Its been known by users that the buttons are improved and pictures show the lower buttons are thicker too. If you were close to the PSP community or even cared you would know that before lashing out like that.....

Duck, by all means its my money.... DS is not my taste so please dont try to tell me what "I" should like.

Funny how only THIS add makes it in the news, while the other two (one showing the "black psp" doing the same thing to the "white psp" and the one where they are both neutral and staring at eachother) didn't even make it into the news.

How's that for your racists? I guess african americans always have to be the "victims" right? Racism is just a ploy for people to exploid the actions of the past in order to use it for personal gain and nothing more. Especially when it's indirect like this.

I'm african American and I could care less, I dont see anything racist about this or the other ads.

I'm not going to get into your opinion tha_con. I know you and I can let it go only becuase I dont care enough about the subject. :indiff:.

I don't mean african americans portray racism harder than others, what I'm saying is no matter what your race, society is quick to put the victim mask on african american society.

Anyway, I really don't care much, I think racism is a crutch for the weakminded, it just bothers me that the other two ads are completely ignored and unmentioned simply to create controversy and once again put that "weak mask" back in the lime light.

Yeah, it's ridiculous to criticize their marketing campaign without assessing it in its entirety. It looks like what's come about with this billboard is similar to taking words out of context. I mean, it's just two peers "battling" each other. It's not like Mrs. Alabaster is cracking the colonel's whip over Black PSP's bloody negro back with cotton and watermelon flying everywhere.

It's just my opinion, I could care less if you got a white PSP.

And I NEVER told you to get a DS. I was just comparing the DS upgrade to the PSP "upgrade".

BTW, My dad just bought a White PSP on Saturday. Ive never owned or even played on a PSP till my dad got his, and all I can say I want one now, and will be getting one ASAP. The only reason he got the white on was because it was a cheaper deal than the rest, £170 for the 32mb version with 3 games and a copy of "wedding Singer" on UMD.
