@RT: , are we able to warm up our tires? like, our we going to have parade lap? because I know some series don't let people swerve to warm up tires, jw.

Found under the "Event Settings" section of "Room Settings":

"Grid Type: Grid with False Start Check"

Fifth bullet point under "Race Procedure":

"Once the field is in position, the Race Director will start the 40 second count-down to race start."

Since the series will be using standing starts with "False Start Check" you are not going to have an opportunity to warm up your tires before the start of the race.

In addition, here are bullet points 1-4 under "Race Procedure" in case you missed them:

  • Drivers will enter the track based on qualifying times, as instructed by the Race Director. Wait until your name has been called!
  • After entering the track, drivers are welcome to circle the track during their warm up lap and make their way to the front straight.
  • You will then self-grid by parking your car in the correct position on the grid. Each week a pre-race post will be made to instruct drivers on where they need to place their cars. Any questions need to be brought up prior to actual race start!
  • The P1 driver at this time is expected to NOT pass the start/finish line. That goes for any other driver! Approach your grid position slowly and make sure you are lined up correctly in the box.

Warming of tires is allowed under the safety car periods, but there's rules regarding that. All in the OP. ;)

Id imagine so if we are lining up ourselves unless you want to hold it on the hambrake ;).

Hooray the world is now a better place with the clown banned :D.

Long live the real FMSC :gtpflag:.

Are we allowed to hold the brake whilst revving?

We will be using False Start Check, so you'll have to. If you are sitting on the grid waiting for everyone else to line up, yes you'll want to hold the brakes.

Just a question, do we have to have the tune you have for each track on the schedule, or can we just make our own?

Actually, you can activate the handbrake while motionless and you can release the brake. The car will only move if someone bumps into your car.

I think throttle input de-activates it, unless you're holding it.

This is for when lining up for gridding. I've done this a few times to grab a drink or take a quick bathroom break.

For the race start, I've actually jumped off the line a split moment before the green and received the false start message. Yet, I don't get the penalty.

RT, seeing how fast the line up is and the fact that Tokyo and Indy are in the track lists.
Would you agree that we need rules in the books to break a tie *cough* 86 series *cough*?
I think best last sector time wins?

I highly doubt that will happen again, but if it does then we'll go by fastest lap.

Which is just how I wanted to do it last time and got a bunch of complaints for some reason.

I was always told it was imposable, if I didn't have the replay I would believe that.

It's the first time I've seen it. I personally had a .001 finish before, but never a tie.

It's not gonna happen again guys. ;)

I'm not betting for it or against it.........
Indy (road), Daytona(oval) and Tokyo are the only tracks I have had more than 2 races come down to a win or loss of 0.001

The faster the cars, the harder a tie is, as unlikely as it is in stock 86's, it's at least twice as unlikely here, plus we already got a tie.

So.... what times are people getting at SPA?
I think I saw a 30 or 33 tossed out.

I got into the high 32s with about half an hour of practice. Going bonkers with the ride height may give me an extra second. Haven't tried it yet.

I feel like a loser compared to you guys, I can't get below 1:40 without redding the lap

So give or take 23 laps for the race. 👍

Don't worry, I'll pull over if faster traffic comes, I learned how not make an ass of myself after the Vintage NASCAR Series

One of the neat secret features of GT5 is that it has a parking brake.

If you hold the hand brake for 5 seconds and let go it will set the parking brake and stay on until you hit the throttle.

When you normally pull the hand-brake lever by pressing the input switch you've assigned it; it will have the driver pull the hand brake while holding down the thumb button. When you hold the input down for 5 seconds the game lets go of the button to set the parking-brake.

PD deserves credit for that subtlety... it's pretty nice.

Better shave 7 seconds off that lap time or you won't have worry about lap traffic.:sly::nervous:
