Obviously it sucks being 13th on the q sheet (even more so if you are the series organizer). This got me thinking what to do until PD fixes 16-grid again. If we are more than 16 we split rooms of course. But from 13-16 there is a black spot, here is how we could fix it.

We do 3 12-lap races instead of 1x36. 12 drivers in each. One or more guys need to sit out, but you can only sit out once. Worst results are scrapped. So:

Race 1 the qualy top 12 starts.

Race 2 grid order by race 1 results, except the spectator(s) get in, replacing those who finished last in race 1.

Race 3 the same, except if the last guy of race 2 was already sitting out race 1, the next guy goes out in instead.

At the end, only the two best results count for each driver. Everyone ends up driving at least two races, and gets points for two races.

If we are 16, 12 drivers in total will be sitting out one race. If we are 13, only 3. And if we are 12, we can switch back to one long race.

I do not know if this has been tried before. Thoughts?

Wait, so RM's last longer than RH's for you?

btw, you never told me why you dropped your G27, too hardcore for you?

I think the RH's will last longer if you take care of them, but your lap times are going to be ugly. After 6-7 laps on them for me, the car was handling so bad that I've decided to make that my limit for running on them. This will be a 3-stop race at least.

Had to sell the G27, needed the money.

RM's can still lap faster at a much worse condition than RH's. For example, if RM's are half wasted and RH's only a quarter wasted, the RM's will still be faster. I think that's what RT is trying to say.

Pretty much. I can do 10 laps on the RM's, losing around 2 tenths per lap, sometimes less. I think with 10 laps on them, I was in the mid-33's. On fresh RH's, I was running pretty much the same times.

I'm thinking best option is to try to get a longer stint on RM's and try to do a stint as short as possible on RH's to avoid losing so much time. This should be fun :D

You could definitely do a 2-stop race, but that means you would have to stretch the RM's to 13 laps each, and the RH's to 10 laps. It's possible, but your lap times would suffer so much that doing 3 stops might just be quicker.

With Wardez planning on qualifying later, if we can find 3 other people who can either qualify now, or are willing to start at the back, we can have a 6-man D2 race, assuming there are no no-shows tomorrow. I've seen Brosif lurking the thread, and he showed up at the Nurburgring practice race for a little bit. Maybe we can convince him to join in. Some other guys like Nige or Rees or Wiifreak, guys who are in JGTS but haven't done anything here are also options. We also have some notable people who never came out today to put down a lap, like Seth.

Cicua, that seems like a good idea on paper, but I'm not sure how it would play out. I may end up just having to sit out tomorrow and just host the race, Would absolutely suck, but unless we're willing to risk having more than 12 in the race, it seems like the best, easiest option.

And no, just because I'm the guy putting this together doesn't mean i'm going to bump off GrayFox (current bubble guy) just to race, I did that once in the Elise series, and although most people were actually telling me to do it, it pissed a few people off. Not doing that again.

Strangely, I like the car much better with the RH. Drove about 8 laps with them and went from 34 flat to mid 35s.

Of course, since a certain someone can run mid 33s after 10 laps on RM's, this race is pretty much decided already. It's just a matter of who's going to come 2nd.

As for tire strategy, 10 RM, 15 RH, 11 RM at this point but it's still up in the air.

Maybe it was 34's?
Still doesn't matter. I was approaching the 36s by Lap 8-9. :indiff:

As for a two tire strategy, the ONLY way I could do that is dump the RM's and use RH. That or buy a proper wheel stand and hope that all my tire wear issues is because of lousy mounting.

I haven't done a long stint on RM's yet. I know solid 33's till 10 on hards, probably 35's by lap 15, if done right.
Mediums can probably run solid mid-32's till 10, if you're gentle enough. Thrashing about chasing a 31 flat won't get you there though.

What car are you driving?

From my seat, 33's on hards for more than a couple laps is damn near impossible.

Hold on while I pick up my jaw from the floor.

To put this in perspective, I struggle to hold 32s for two laps on the meds and broke 33s on the hards once this entire week so let me vent.

What are you guys doing?! I...can't...figure...it...out! :banghead:

Ok, I'm done.

Do you want to qualify for the race tomorrow? I could set up a room right now.

Sorry, I meant 34's. 33's for first 5 laps.:dopey:

Setup:
Aero: 35/60

LSD: 7/12/5

29/25
15.5/13.5
8/6
7/8
5/5

2.0/1.0
0.00/0.00

3/3

It's a little loose on hards, a little tight on mediums.

I'm in your room Steve, where you at?

Wardez: 1:32.152

And that's it for quali. GrayFox, A1-242 and I basically need minor miracles.

I'll host the race if D2 isn't possible. GrayFox gets dibs if anyone no shows.

Can I qualify sometime before the race? I got on last night but I couldn't find the room.

Nope, I'm pretty consistent on RM's up to 9 laps, then I swapped to RH's and after about 6-7 laps the car is on ice. It's manageable but your lap times will suffer.

I'm looking at 8 laps, 9 if I can keep calm on the throttle.

just looking through thread, looks cool mule great idea. If you need a spare driver to fill up a grid just give me a shout as I'm free tonight

Lol im 12th phew and CSL will try your setup thanks 👍 (Was hoping for Nep to share his but WSGTC events seem to have made him forget :().

Me too!

Drove this car for the first time a couple of days ago and was quite handy with it ;-)

If the Pure guys not signed up wanna open a room. I'd join the fun. These cars are cool.

So its 36 laps uh? Well, 3 pit stops might be the way to go. Good luck everyone! :D

You should have posted in the thread sooner. I can't let you qualify, but you can take a spot in D2

Hi there!

I have just taken 5 mn of my free time to create a new sheet style.
I haven't deleted the old sheet cause a wait for Mule confirmation ;)

Yeah it's fine. Don't delete the old one, though.

Readable text!
Nice layout.
You do realize I changed that a while ago, right?

Hey this is perfect. You guys can fill up D2 so we can actually have a race.

I thought you couldn't make the time?
