In real life racing the car's reliability can be a problem, for us it's getting disconnected.
In real life racing does a reliability problem dictate where you can qualify and how well you can finish the race after the problems?

Divisional systems do look good on paper, and there's less oddities here then in Pure JGTS, but there's still good tracks for people and bad tracks. And there's still the DC issues, along with what might happen if someone can't make a week?
I think Wardez and Denilson gave it a valiant effort, and unfortunately all their work was for nothing, GT5's servers in particular just haven't been allowing it a chance.
Of course we also encountered other flaws, some relevant some not.

Made a setup for this car. If anyone has any feedback could they post in in my garage thread, thank you.

I'll give it a shot.👍
But I think this series has been determined tuning prohibited on racing medium now.

You also have take take your wheel's reliability in account.:ouch:

Well, my inititial thought about Disconnects were "oh well, D2 isn't the end of the world," but if people are that upset over it, I may as well save myself the trouble.

:/

Logo help? Yay? Nay?

I sure hope the update lets you purchase these cars from the dealership. I was able to get decent times practicing. Stock aint bad with mediums.

D2 isn't the end of the world, I've said this before though.
It's when people are competing for positions and bad luck strikes them out of 2 races instead of just one. Surely you wouldn't want to finish worse in a race just because you DC'd the week before?

Just like Pure, where we had great drivers in D2 not getting their fair shot at races imo. We opened it up to only 3 drivers from D2 entering D1 last race, and 2 of them beat me. ;)

Open qualifying, while it has potential for driver error making someone race lower then they could, is never random. If I crash in open qualifying and get D2, it's my fault, nobody or anything else's. Not the result of a DC, but a result of my poor qualifying performance.

Well Race 1 was a complete disaster lag was insane got lag punted atleast 4times causing full engine damage.

The 2nd race wierdly nothing had changed but there was no lag what so ever.

I got tapped into a spin by Mule unsure if it was my fault or his (not too bothered) so he waited for me and I couldnt turn enough to go past and hit him :scared: so I coasted a little to make sure he was in my draft... only for him to unfortunatly spin later in the lap.

Then I managed to pick people off one by one (accidents helped) raced Cicua and Nissen for a while until a few errors droped me off Cicua so happily trotted around in 5th pleased with my fight back through to field. I eventualy got up to Cicua and Litchi but couldnt get into their draft. On the last lap they had a coming together at the T5-6 left right complex which gifted me 3rd :D.

GT5 Servers need sorting as its a bit inconsistant with connections 👎 but overal the night was good :).

Thanks to Mule for hosting 👍.

Edit: I agree with CSL I much prefered the car with no tuning and RH. (And I spent quite a bit of time trying to get a good tune...)

Yea I agree, I have %100 singal strength and I still get locked out or booted.

Mule, i want to drop out of this series due to lack of time, sorry :( all members of this series have a good season and fun!

I can't wait for this series to kick off along with JGTS man... my god, they said 2012 could be an awakening and I now know exactly what mine's gonna be xD

Took the car out offline on Fuji GT, and I have to say, although I don't like "new" Fuji, the car seemed alright on it. It has just enough gearing to make it along the straight without hitting the limiter, though it surely will with the draft. However, that might not be such a bad thing.

Tomorrow if I get a chance, I'll take it out on Monza and some other tracks and see which ones I like the best with the car.

Have you thought about opening up the tire compounds?

I do all my testing online purely for authenticity sake. Even with tire wear on, I think the offline physics are still different.

Me too... I use an open room rather than my lounge for added authenticity. For some reason my lounge seems to be ~1s/lap faster than a public room.

I think given the dual race format, we'll stick with the spec tire.

Season 3 of the integras will be open for sure, though.

Hey I changed my colour to GT POLARIZED 010-P with bluey purple alloys is that ok ?

Well, the tires last a lot less than usual. At least softs. Mediums lose grip fast but are about a second or two slower on small tracks. They do last longer than softs but not by much. Going to be lots of pitting.

Yeah tire wear is very different now soft tires seem to go twice as quick now, mediums aren't much better than softs interms of tire wear. Hards seemed about the same although I've not tested on RX-7, will be interesting to see how this changes things.

Do we have to race on medium tires could we take hards instead if we wanted ?

I tested hards last night at Laguna Seca comparing it with a car I raced 48 laps with at Laguna on Saturday. RH tires wear exactly the same as before.👍

Mediums don't, and they don't have more grip now either. I think the hard tires should be the mediums for grip levels and last as long as hards, but GT5 has weird tire grip modelling.

Testing the car on Fiji with mediums (online). After 3 laps I'm spinning out everywhere. 👎

Seems like its more a problem with the cars base setup than with the tires themselves, though.

That said though, I still think Fuji is a track that suits the car nicely.

So basically this update ruined everything planned? Meaning mediums aren't really viable anymore because they wear quicker now, but of course most cars still suck in stock trim.

Pretty much, which is a shame because it's a fantastic update otherwise.

I took 50hp off the car, and it's much more manageable, however this would force us to open up tuning. But as long as the racing's better, that's what matters.

I'm thinking of just scrapping the whole dual race format, and running this Integra style, honestly. Tire choice between hards and mediums with a rule where you must use both, open suspension/aero/LSD tuning, with 450 up limit.

You used to be able to use power limiter on tuning prohibited, did they change that too?

Other then that I'm too irritated with things to comment right now.

Well, what do you know, it let me in. ;o

Still thinking of going Integra style again, though. Honestly, it would probably save us a whole lot of trouble.

Yeah I'm down for that compromise. I don't think just 50hp's gonna make a difference to make the racing better though. But I'm alright with less power for sure.

Only thing I'm worried about is that there will be people using fresh cars, dialing the engine down to race and gaining HP during the course of the race as they break it in.

I actually had this thing tacked down as an illegal performance boost way back when I was putting together a defunct Le Mans series. My solution was just doing two checks, a pre-race and post-race inspection. Going to settings would DQ you bar-none.

Now I give the solution to you my friend.

Should work 👍
