Purple Nines and Car Park Q's

I'm going thru the game again to get 100%, and I'm running into two problems. Anyone know how to get around these?

1) The first pay phone mission for D-Ice of the Red Jacks - 'Uzi Rider': The mission is to shoot 20 Purple Nines in 120s. As soon as the mission starts, there are NO Purple Nines on the streets, anywhere in the neighborhood, at any time of the day. Do they disappear at a certain point in the game? I've already done 'The Exchange' but they weren't there before I did it either, and the 1st time I played thru the game I had no prob with this...

2) The Stallion driving mission in the Staunton carpark: Which car do I get in to trigger this? Do I hafta go in on foot? Is there something I'm missing? I've tried a bunch of things, but never managed to trigger this mission...

Any help would be appreciated, and I'll name my 1st-born child after the member who helps the most! :)
 
'Uzi Rider'- I've tried doing this mission like 15 times. The most I've ever killed was 13. I've never had a problem finding them though. I just get in a vehicle right after the pay phone guy tells me my mission, and I slowly creep the street in front of the pay phone, and I just start shooting everyone I see. I always end up getting killed though, cause there are 2 different gangs shooting at me, and about 3 gang vans smashing into me...:nervous: I don't think they'll just disappear at any point in the game. They're probably there, and you just don't realize it because they just look like pedestrians, they don't have those bright blue arrows above them like I thought they would.



"Any help would be appreciated, and I'll name my 1st-born child after the member who helps the most!" -This worries me; what if the member who helps you the most has a name like your's?:lol: I'm hoping you mean you'll name it after their real name, and not member name...:D
 
Thanks Josh, but the Purple Nines are most definitely NOT there! I just looked at gamefaqs, and apparently this is a known glitch. They say to just keep trying it. :rolleyes:

And I also got the info for the Stallion one there too. You gotta get a Stallion, drive it in front of a carpark entrance then get out & get back in to start. Gonna try it tonite!

So I shoulda just looked there first, but a deal's a deal. Josh, hmmm. Josh is not a bad name, just hope it's a boy! :)

You said you'd name it after the member who helped you the most. So, unless I'm the only person who ever replies to this thread, or nobody offers you any more help than what I did(which shouldn't be hard, considering I offered little or no help:D ) you don't have to name it Josh.:p


Anyways, that's really odd that they're not there...:nervous: I guess the only advice I can give you now, is "to just keep trying it.":lol: j/k...:p
 
I know tha the Purple Nines mission can be done. I've done it. Just keep goin' at it. Don't cruise real slow. You won't make it. But don't as fast as you can. As for the other vans hittin' you. SHOOT THEIR PUNK A$$ES!! Just blast 'em with the uzi for a bit until their van blows up. I thought it was a fairly fun and easy mission myself... :D ;) :D :cheeburga
 
do the mission at night. that's when they come out to play.

that's one great thing i love about this game. a lot of the later missions, they're time-of-day related. i don't think any other game has this.
 
same thing happened with me man, no nines at all. you have to start over.

you beat it the first time right? then went to start new game? then saved over the first game? it's a damn glitch, and they won't be there.

so, delete your save. turn off the ps2, turn it on, and it will start a new game(since you don't have a gta3 file), then the nines will be there. it sucks, but that's the only way I could get it.

OK, that's what I was afraid of. :nervous: And I'm over 90% on this one! :mad: Oh well, I've played through it 3x already, once more won't kill me... And I did the car-park mission 1st try, jacked a Stallion in front of the entrance!
 
all i can say is it aint just you. Thanx malice, but to be honest, I completed it once and so I am not starting again for the 6th, no 7th time (they keep corrupting - and i promise i let it finish saving first so dont say thats what it is - sometimes the files still there but it just comes up load failed - it sucks)

I went inside and jacked a stallion. Parked right out side the entrance and did the first time through.

guess i will then - ive completed portland now (and i mean absolutely everything; jumps packages etc.) I am going to get it right this time! And save it in 2 slots. :D
 
hey. since this is kinda a glitch thread........
after doing the expresso 2 go mission for um....the A.......i went from staunton to middle island to portland, in that order right, well after i finished that mission, all of the blue telephone missions, for the porn star guy, rebooted!!!!! So now i can go through all of those missions again. Is this a glitch or is this normal???? anyway, there doesn't seem to be any defect yet to the rest of the game. :cheeburga

Did you get the blue telephone sign???

Because the I've been able to start the Yardie missions on Staunton Island again, but the green telephone indicator did not show, I just answered the telephone. Also I was only able to do the first mission, none of the others.

Yeah, if you go back to the phones in Portland and Staunton, you get to do 'Turismo' and 'Bling-Bling' to improve your race times.

I thought UZI rider was to kill 15 diablos. That's what I did and I got them. I think you guys are just mistaken. The diablos are dress in purple jackets and blue jeans, but they're not the purple 9's.

I think so too. I'm not really sure. I haven't done that mission in awhile.

My mistake, the mission is actually called 'Uzi Money'. It's the first payphone mission for D-Ice on Shoreside. I apologize for any confusion or inconvenience I may have caused. :)
