In Amars updates he states that you can save your QTS to either A,B, or C. That's only three possible set-ups per car. I remember GT4 had this too, letting you save three possible set-ups.
So the main issue with this is that there are more than three tracks in GT5P, and if you are really shooting for the top ten LB times on them then you need a set-up for every track, as every track will likely require at the least different gearing. With a minimum of 20 gigs to work with why would PD limit this little save to three places?
If the full GT4 had it and now GT5P, this doesn't bode well for GT5 full not also being burdened with it. With an offline game it is no big deal, but now the GT is online your times get posted and you race against the best, you need every advantage you can get and set up and tuning is a huge advantage, especially on a per track basis.

3 Per car i think
Edit- I've just read it again now and see what you mean.
I think 3 setups per cars is ok as you can have.
A tight track setup.
Fast track setup
and a drift setup.

For GT5P this is ok. But for the full GT5 they need more because they might have changeable weather.

Like I said 3 is fine for an offline game. But to be competitive on every track with the top players you will need a different set up for every track. Drifting will also require another set up. It's just a silly problem PD probably didn't realize would be one, but they can't possibly know if they have no contact with the fans in the first place.

I agree that they should implement more setups
Shouldn't be to hard i think, just make the list a bit bigger.

As long as they know its something that needs to be done, along with voice chat and proper lobbies/options. PD really needs to be able to communicate with the fans.

Also the ability to save your setups using a naming convention would be nice, something FM2 did well. A, B and C is great for a quick select, but naming your setup is even more important if they will allow for even more saved setups come GT5.

If there was no option to save dedicated set-ups, people would never ask for it. Now when there are 3, now 3 ain't enough. People are never satisfied, reminds me on Custom Class in COD4 :D

we already had 3 setups named A, B and C in GT4. so about 3 years later it´s about time to implement an option to freely name - say 10 - setups, don´t you agree?

Sometimes it's really hard to separate complaining and constructive criticism. I don't see this as complaining at all, PD is a company focused on details, and it's in the details that makes or breaks a game. This is just one small detail in the grand scheme of what is GT.

It was great having this option in GT4, but as stated above, it has been years and an improvement would be more than welcomed. Most of the people who play GT, especially here on this forum, are die hards, and love tuning cars that they drive in GT. This is just a small observation that would make saving specific tunes easier to manage. Sorry for the schpeel, sometimes I feel that people do ask for the extraordinary, but this isn't over the top at all.

BTW, amar, thank you for all the updates thus far, I'm drooling!

Did GT4 have 3 as well?

I always used One, because I enjoy going and changing each time I change track, and besides it was minimal changes, Usually gears and Suspension.

I don't think it's a complain or anything but i'd rather race with stock settings unless they give more options of course :)

yea the funny thing is i love driving each car in stock trim as well, maybe upgrade the wheels. Just sticking up for the tuners! lol

No no, you misunderstand Amar. It is not the fact that I would not be satisfied with only 3 set up, just like the GT4. Its that with the addition of online leaderboards and racing you track specific tunes will be needed more than ever to compete with elite drivers. I know your one those hardcore GT fans that see no problems with any GT ever. That's understandable. The only criticism I can ever have with GT is always very small things like this, but this is one that is easily fixed I would think.

The question Amar still has not answered is whether or not setup files can be shared. (copied to an SD card/flash drive and uploaded to a hosting site)

Jordan said that he would like to have GTPlanet be a resource for hosting those setup files.

Even if we can't save them to a thumbdrive, I'm sure we can still share them here. I know I will share my general tune with everyone here once everything is up and running.
