Quest for F1's: a tale of bad luck (how to get an F1)

(scroll to the bottom and read the bold for a condenced version, this is my contribution to helping people out, if this points one person in the right direction, Ive done my job)

It started out the first few days after I got GT3, I learned that one could get a Formula one by completing the endurancee races.

I noticed first that I needed the proper license, so I dedicated much of my time achieving all licenses, up to IA. I didn't work on Rally.

Then I realised I needed a car. I learned that this car, the Suzuki Escudo was able to reach speeds in excess of 1000 MPH. little did I know that only a very long straight could bring this speed out. I didn't have a million dollars to spare, so I went rallying, but what's the cheapest way?

I won the Camaro Race car from the American Championship series race in amateur. Then, I worked on my Rally license. Time to get to work.

I raced my Camaro RAce car in the SS5 wet II wet race, and won my first rally car, an Impreza. With my trusty Impreza, I marked off each rally event one by one. My prize: a Suzuki Escudo. Beefy.

I took my escudo and ran the SUper Speedway endurance. Many, many times, collecting several cars and hundreds of thousands of dollars along the way. Eventually, I got my first formula 1 car: a red F090/S

Next: the other endurance races. I put a lot of mileage on my F090/S getting these races done. Almost every single one, and not a single F1. I even raced the Super speedway again and no F1, that was 8 races and no Formula 1, statistically I should have 2 by now. (eventuall, I did win a second F090/S from the superspeedway enduro, this one in black)

There were 2 that gave me major pain: Trial Mountain 2hr and Roadster Endurance. Boy, oh boy did they make me mad.
1. The Trial Mountain wasn't so bad, I used a Toyota GT One road car I won from the GT World Championship in Amateur. It lasted a while, wasn't much of a challenge, but it worked.
2. For the Roadster, I bought the most expensive Mazda Miata I could buy. I was angered when I learned that this enduro required the Mazda to be stock, but that don't include tires! I quickly learned that the best tires to buy are the second-from-top raciong tires, the second cheapest. The mazda in first pulled ahead the first laps, but he piotted often, I easily took first place, I only pitted once, on lap 20. I finished that race and, much to my surprise, I got an F688/S. This was also the last enduro I had to do, and I got an F094/H! The best one (from what Ive heard)!!!!

Now I look back. I probably should've just taken my Camaro Race car strait to the Super Speedway.

In conclusion: If you want to get a Formula 1 quick and cheap. get your IA license, get a Camaro Race car, take it to the Super Speedway Endurance, race as many times as required and get an F090/S. If you still arent satisfied, use It, a Toyota GT one road car, and the most expensive Mazda Miata and finish them all off.

Welcome to GTPlanet, just keep using good english and you'll be treated with respect around here.

I'm pretty sure someone will find this useful who has just purchased the game.

Welcome again, OfUnknownOrgin - Origin? :odd:

it's a movie that came out in the 80's, about a guy who goes nuts hunting down this bobcat-sized rat in his apartment.

it just poped up when I was making up a name.

yeah but what ALPHA is getting at is its spelt Origin not Orgin

I have run super speedway 4 or five times, and all the others once apart from Monaco and one 2hr Trial Mountain. But still NO F1 car. GRRRRRR!!!!!

keep going, i did the super speedway enduro 11 times to get the f1 car. i used the escudo and sticky tape trick

No fair!! Ive given up going round and round super speedway. Im gonna get them all done because i think you get an f1 car for finishing all the enduros..... Well i hope so anyway. if not ill still be a step closer to 100%

just do the sticky tape/rubberband trick

do a search if you dont know what it is, it has been explained hundreds of times

Unfortunatley my sister has taken the tv from the room where i play GT3 and put it in her bedroom. As i am 1hr into the 2hr rome race i dont want to turn off my ps2 to move it. She goes back to uni on wed so ill get back on it then.

Nice little story up there unknown. Very good. Perhaps an easier way to get this one done was to use the Save/reload, trick on the PD cup.

You'll need to get your S license to complete the game anyways, so why not knock the license tests out first. From there, you can enter the Toyota GT-one road car in the PD cup. You'll need to take first place for 7 races, then race to the front of the pack for two more. In those three races, when you quit while leading, you'll gain no points, but second place will only get 6 instead of 10 had you skipped the race entirely. This leaves the series point going into the last race with you = 70, AI = 54.

The Save/reload trick gives a final points standing of you = 70, AI = 64. Thus allowing you to "pick" your award car. Which will be the F094.

So for approximately 3 hour 45 minutes of racing, you can be guaranteed the best F1 car in the game.

Or you can enjoy racing against the AI and use a competitive car.

Der, I was trying to get it fast, and the S liecense was, and is, very tuff (but that'll change today, when the UPS guy shows up with my gameshark!)

I wouldve done the save/reload, but I wouldve spent the same amount of time trying to get the S license, I drive very agressivly

Ahhh... The difference I was seeing is, that you have to do the S-license at some point anyway, so why not knock it off first thing?

I know it's tough, and want to get to the racing as soon as possible. But then again, with your quest to get an F1 as soon as possible, doesn't really attest to racing. You'll slaughter all the AI no matter what. You'll do nothing more than turn fast laps around a track on your way to 100%.

And now with the gameshark, I'm guessing you're goin got shark out the Loads of money, and the License tests on Gold.

A bit disappointing to see you aim for a good start then run afoul of the enjoyable racing. But then again, I can't blame you, as when you're turning those fast laps, it is relaxing.

why dont you just do the S license. you seem to have the patience for all the enduro's and 11 times of SS. the s license IS tricky (it took me about 3 hours a test) but just work on a test or 2 a day and you will have it sooner than you think.

Yeah, I gave myself a nice 10 trillion, and got the lisences done. WAs 9it worth it? Well, I don't know yet, but I do know that I still have a copy of GT3 from before I got the GS2, I could go back and do what I want any time.

Mostly, Ill use the GS to get long jobs done in a short time, like the "Like the wind!" thing. With my trusty scudo, I could easily get it, but 20 laps?!?!?!?

you see what I mean, but trust me, I haven't been too spoiled yet. Ill go back and work on the tests every now and then

You're griping about 20 laps? How in the world did you manage to run the Tokyo Enduro? Or any of the endurances at all? Many, Many, many people on GTPlanet have run enduro's multiple times, as well as long races even more. I've run the PD cup in (last count) 8 different cars. At this time, I've run the Rome and Tokyo enduro's enough to strain the ligiments in my right hand. Although I think I've only run the Super Speedway three times.

Take it from a learned old man, use the gameshark for the cash and the licenses. This will enable you to have enough cash on hand to run the majority of the races with a competitive and enjoyable car. Scan through my compendium to see what cars I've used, and set your up accordingly.

Spend a bit of time reading the Write-ups to see what cars other chose.

Most of all, enjoy the races. Yes, you will loose some, but they'll be far more fun than wasting the competition.

the tokyo, ah yes, I remember that one. 3 hours (felt like it) of excruciating pain, comprable to the Chinese Water torture.

but as I said, I havn't been spoiled yet, im even considering starting over, just to keep integrity, ya know? I got 2 memory cards, and hindsite's always 20/20, or close to it. I just might start over.

trust, Im not gonna waste the game away :)

Tis OK. It's nice to have the padded wallet. Not necessary, but certainly nice. The drawback to getting gold with the gameshark, is no car awards. But then again, you've got more than enough cash to pick up a new car.

I'd say, leave the game as is (cash and license). Skip using the F1 cars until the end, and enjoy the game with competitive cars. You know that the Rome enduro can be won with 250hp?

Welcome to GTPlanet, enjoy your stay.
