I want to do a 4AGE 20V swap in my MR2, which currently has a 4AGE 16V. My question is, can I use the mounts, harness, and transmission that's already in the car, or do I need to buy new mounts and such if I do go through with a 20V?

Quick Google search says everything should be ok.

I know, but my 16V also threw a piston rod,QUOTE]

Had that happen before but on a totally different engine. That's a pain in the ass. Did yours go through the hood?

For the price of a 20V you could get the 16V to be faster.

For $800-1000 you could gain 40-50hp out of a 16V?

The swap is extremely well documented. Look on mr2.com and mr2oc.com . Its not just "yes everything will work", and it also will vary depending on which 20V you get.

It was a general statement. Obviously there are going to be a few quirks, as with any engine swap.

Thankfully not. It broke because the previous owner never put oil in the car and he drove without an air filter. The car was also once in an accident and unproffessionally repaired, and sat dor 8 months.

Yep, she's a project for sure.

You'll need the ECU and to do some wiring.

The C50 and C52 transmission booth work with the 20V, since it uses the same block and what not.

I use to have an AW11 with a 20V in it. Was a good amount of fun and had a bit of scoot to it.

I've driven an aw11 with the 20v(BT), 6spd, and a mild suspension tune. It was fun and did scoot, do it!

I had planned to do a swap into mine when I had one but planning was as far as I got.
