Question about championship racing

I went to start the All Japan GT Championship, but didn't finish. I wound up withdrawing from the championship.

I returned later on and won each individual race WITHOUT entering the championship. Now that all 10 races are won, is there any way to win the championship without entering it again and having to race all 10 races again?

Forgive me if this is a common question, but I didn't see anything posted.

Thanks for the help!

You can win the championship by winning 7 of the 10 races and not doing the last 3 races. You will end up having 70 points and that should be enough to win the championship.
You need to start the last 3 races and then exit each race at the start and then repeat for the next 2, etc.

Depending on points spread of AI you may be able to win by just doing and winning 6 races for 60 points. If after race 6 you are 41 points ahead of the 2 nd place AI they cannot beat you.

Uncle Harry is correct.

You have to do at least 7 out of ten races to secure enough points for a championship win. There is the chance of a 6/10 win, but different AI need to place second in each race.

Yeah, but I already won all 10 races. I just did them individually instead of entering the championship. So you're saying that I can now start the championship and then just win 7 of the races?

There were a few other times in championships that I didn't have to enter the championship until AFTER I won all of the races, and then when I'd quit out, it would go ahead and award me the championship.

I dunno, seems rather dumb. If it's not going to allow a championship win by winning all of the races UNLESS you actually enter the championship, then it shouldn't allow you to enter each race individually until you've won the championship.

Thanks for the help, I guess I've gotta race 7 more times.

It makes perfect sense, you can do each race individually and you'll get your percent complete for each race but not for the champonship and you won't get the championship prize. To get thoes, you have to win the championship on points the championship percent completion isn't a race it's a condition, and you don't get the ponts you need to get that by doing the races as single races. You'll get used to it, but it does make sense.

There is a percentage awarded for each individual first place. So you must come in first place in each race (as well as winning the series once, perhaps not winning all races that time) to get all the possible percentage.

A game can be saved mid-series by exiting using the green arrow and going to your home and doing "save". (That's with "Autosave restricted"; I'm actually not sure what the default behaviour is). When you load that game, you will be at the map, with a flashing indicator that your are mid-series. You can return to the series by, among other things, attempting to enter any event hall. (Just be careful to answer the questions correctly so that you continue and don't withdraw from the series).

Given that, the All-Japan is one of the more reasonable-length series in the game, since all races are only about 5 laps long. So I'd suggest maybe just completing the whole thing in two or three sessions, saving progress in between. But starting-and-quitting the last 3 or 4 races is a time-saving option, too. As is B-spec. Another neat thing about this series is that you don't need to use Japanese cars! The prize you get for winning it is one of the best cars to use in it for an easy series which is not a total walkover. (But that's not an option the first time; the Nissan Concept Z LM (prize for the series immediately above it; looks sort of JGTCish even though it's not designated as such) seems like a good bet, but I've not tried it since I learned to tune/drive the faster cars in this game).

I'd guess those were "single races" not championships. Circles around the results indicate single race "sets". Connected square boxes indicate a "true" championship. Either that, or you're thinking of a completely different game.

I'm pretty sure you don't win the Championship unless you enter-and-withdraw all races until the end. But maybe that was just GT3? I think Max Mosley and/or Bernie Ecclestone have made the same requirement of Michael Schumacher in years past, so there is real-life precedent. :)

But some people might resent that arbitrary restriction. They wouldn't be able to try a race they liked in the middle before doing the entire series. Of course, it is true that in the games prior to GT3 entering a single race of a championship wasn't an option.

Historically, GT games weren't so percentage-oriented, and a championship (which couldn't be entered as individual races, and was a maximum of 5 races of 5 laps) was always there to be re-entered to win more money and different prize cars, not to mention to have more fun. And it still is the case, in GT4, that you can re-enter any championship an arbitrary number of times, winning the series prize money and car each time.
