Hi,

A couple of nights ago, i was in an online lobby around the Nurburgring GP/D. I was in a race (and leading) when all of a sudden my screen froze and the PS3 beeped and turned off.

I turned the PS back on and backed up all the game data, just in case for any loss and started up the game.

I re-entered the same room and it froze as soon as i entered, and i couldn't move cursor and had to shut the PS down again!

I hadn't used the PS for a couple of days until this morning, but i had a go in an online lobby and all was well, i got bored with being shoved about, so had a look at the seasonal events and raced the first one, fine. Then i entered the second one which is 500pp around Nurburgring GP/D and it either refuses to load and crashes or loads and starts then crashes.

Is my game at fault or is there something wrong with my save file?

Many thanks in advance

I have also had this problem I think it might be the latest update (2.05), I have just backed up my save file and waiting for a new patch to come out.👎

Ok thank you :)

Th game forze up on me the night before the release of the latest update and hasn't played right since.

I'm hoping not to delete the game and re install it as i'm not clued up enough to do this task and get everything back as it was.

I'm also hoping its just a glitch and will eventually go back to how it used to.

I've been getting a lot more freezes during loading since the update, too. I pretty much never had such issues - I can't say *never* because it had happened once or twice in the previous year or so since GT5 came out, but now it happens on average twice a day, and I probably play less than an hour a day!

I've been worried that my PS3 is dying, but it sounds like it's more a software than hardware issue. PS3 still plays other games fine, and still plays Blu-Ray and DVD just fine.

Here's hoping the next patch will fix the issues!

I had the worst happen to me: 2hr and 8mins into the Nurburgring 4hr event in my Nissan GT-R TC. I've just lapped everyone. I was going to pull in the pits to change tires and put more gas in then the game freezes!!! I was less than a car lengths away from the pits and it freezes!! That was it I was so angry I wanted to blowup the PD Building to bits. From then on Ive stopped doining Endurance races!!

I'm having these same issues. It's new as of the last update or so. I don't play online much but turning the game on seems to take longer than it used to, and loading times seem to be longer and I've had the game freeze at loading a few times as well.

Ok, bit of an update.

I've been avoiding Nurburgring GP/F just in case of future freezing, but i was in an online lobby where they changed the track to Nordshliefe and had a quick race. Most of the track if not all of it was gone and the car was floating on what should have been where the track is.......

What shall i do, it seems that anything to do with Nurburg and all relevent circuits are in trouble.

I had this problem couple of times! nothing I can say about it .. hope it will never come again.

Ever since the last maintenance on April 4 I'm freezing almost every time I go online, either A or B Spec. It might happen on the 2nd or 3rd race, but it seems inevitable.

It seems we are getting even more issues. I wish Sony would acknowledge this and make some changes to improve the problem.

I don't so much freeze... it just stops loading for me. I spent quite a while tuning my BTR, I entered an online lobby to test it out, went onto the track, then when I went to drive out of the pits I got a black screen and a white GT logo in the corner. That usually means I need to quit the game, so I did and lost my tune for the BTR. It's happening way too many times for me now.

1. Hardwire directly to your modem, and reset your modem. Skip routers, they only slow you down.
2. Clear your system cache. It's in the games Network Options, and may take a couple of minutes if you haven't done it before
3. Disable your custom music. It's been known to cause problems in the past.

1) Never had these problems using wireless up until last week, and I got the game at launch.
2)Cache cleared EVERY time I go online.
3)I don't use custom music.

Update: I took out my game disc, it was scored in one area (likely by the laser head), so I used a disc repair kit on it. Last night was far better for disconnects and freezing.

i am having the same problems since last week, i took my disc out aswell and found a line on the disc, to be honest it had not been out for weeks.... i have now cleaned the disc, and all seems fine, just to be sure i will by a 'blueray disc' cleaner, as the lazers are ofthen the problem.

As per previous advice above: also sync your clock and trophies. This has helped some with disconnects.

Well I have been getting a strange glitch at the Nurb 24h track racing online. Entering the carousel the screen will freeze then unfreeze and freeze again. Other times after the carousel the asphalt is gone and a surreal green appears where the track should be.
How do you clean the disc properly and the PS3? Or is my BRD failing?
I have the 160g unit slim one and half years old. Runs every day a min 4 hours, no special music, plenty of air space, clear my cache every day and have cleaned the vents but not taken it apart. Any ideas?

I froze up three times in the exact same spot on the track at Nurb GP/D in practice mode:crazy::crazy:

My buddy and I have noticed this issue a lot in the past month. Never really experienced it before.
I seem to notice it more when doing online racing, if not totally. Often times its when selecting a course and its loading the course, then, its progression just hangs and noone can do anything other than quit GT.

Sorry for the longevity of my reply.

I too have noticed a score that goes around the entire disk. How do you go about cleaning the disk with damaging the surface?

I clear the system cache very frequently as i used to get continuous connection and DNS errors, but since moving the PS to a hard wired location i rarely get these issues now.

The PS is only 2 or so years old now, but would it benefit from a bluray cleaner?

Just moving this thread up to see if anyone has experienced problems with the download GT Academy.
