Is their any mobile version of the forums avaliable as I use Gtp on my iPod sometimes and It would greatly improve the browsing experience.

For example Neogaf has an excellent one avaliable.

Also pasting a link in the mobile versions link maker is impossible and if it isn't could I please have some assistance.

Thanks.

At the bottom of the page, there is a box that probably says "default". You can change it to a GTP Lite or mobile version.

You can also visit the forums via http://mobile.gtplanet.net to access the "mobile" version of the forums directly. :) I'm not sure I understand your question about posting links, though?

Any chance of adding a adopting a vBulletin app for GTP? There are several third-party vBulletin plug-ins that make viewing the vB format much more intuitive than mobile.gtplanet.net. The current version is just data-lite, but is still very clumsy to have to zoom, slide over to read paragraphs etc. There are a variety of apps for both Apple and Android that solve these formatting and usability issues that only require the addition of a little code to Jordan's end, and are mostly free for the GTP user's end. I just simply don't have the patience to use such a high resolution page on a lower resolution screen (Safari on iPhone 3GS) as well as tree navigation involving subforums. I could be doing something wrong on my end, mind you.

I'm aware of those applications, but I don't like them nor do I feel comfortable with their business models. I'm a heavy iPhone 3GS user myself, and I have a partially-finished custom iPhone theme ready to go. I will resume work on it once GTPX is out the door. For now, I've adjusted the font sizing on the current mobile skin, so it's considerably more iPhone (and probably Android) friendly.

Agreed. I've never actually used any of them, which is why I didn't nominate any specific app. From a glance, none seem to do everything properly, but I was hoping someone knew of one that operated well enough without too much advertising or otherwise compromising GTP in other ways. Good to head you're working on something for the mobile users!

👍👍

As I said above, I've adjusted font sizes to make the text in the mobile skin more readable for iPhone/Android users. Is it now too large on other mobile browsers?

Ah, I was afraid that might happen. Take another look and let me know if the situation has improved. (iPhone and iPod Touch users, also take another look - you should find the mobile style considerably more useful now.)

I have used my ipod to view gtplanet since febuary and have never had any problems. I think the setout is actually very good, in my opinion.

Same here... I browse the normal version of GTP on my iPhone as well... was weird when I started, but ive gotten so use to it now its fine for me. I'm going to check the mobile version to see if its better :)

-edit: Mobile version works well I must say... loads a lot faster too... 👍
