Hi guys,

I've just reverse mounted my pedals, swapped to a 320mm wheel, and am in the process of tilting the steering wheel to almost vertical. I have decided to use the hard mounts, and the clamps will be useless after tilting the wheel.

I have a wooden rig with the wheel mounted to a flat piece of wood that acts as a table at the moment. What would be the best way to tilt the wheel? I am thinking of adding a new piece of wood about the size of the base of the g27, hard mounting the wheel to that new piece of wood, then mounting that new piece of wood onto the wooden table somehow (screws probably). I would have to remove the clamps (does anyone know how) so I can keep the wheel as low to the table as possible. What do you guys think of this? Am I missing out on a simpler way to do it? Thoughts/opinions?

My second issue is how do I actually drill the holes? I know the screws I have to use are M6X1.0. Is there some sort of attachment I need to put onto my electric drill, then drill the hole, then fit in the M6x1.0 screws? I couldn't find much on the internet about how other people hard mounted and I haven't done anything like this in the past-please share how you did it!

Thanks

Make a template of the bottom of the G27 with the locations of the bolt holes, lay that on top of your wheel plate on your rig, center/place it where you want and drill. Make sure don't drill holes too big for the heads of the bolts you're going to use, if you do you can always use washers under the bolt heads.

Measure twice, drill once.
