Question about merging threads

I did a search and didn't find an answer to this specific question.

I posted a couple of tunes in the Tuning Forum just to help people get started with some of the lower powered cars, and now I'm thinking of starting a garage. I know I can start the Garage thread and have the existing thread merged into it, that's not the question. The question is, if I start a new thread for the Garage, and I reserve the first 3 or 4 posts for my future use as is common practice, when the threads merge will I retain those first 3 or 4 reserved posts?

I believe the posts will be merged in chronological order, so if all your reserved posts were made before the other thread (the one that's to be merged with the main thread), then the reserved posts will remain in their location.

Thanks @Jordan , that's kind of what I figured but unfortunately the new thread isn't made yet so the existing thread would all be in front of it. If I do start a garage I'll just start from scratch no problem.
