Question About paint!

First of all i actually love the way they did this paint system!

but i was wondering for cars that you can buy that have stripes do the stripes in the paint job carry over to the new car ?

i want to finally have the 1999 viper back with blue and white stripes, but it is the newer viper that has that color..so would the stripes carry over?

well if you paint a Mini, the roof goes to the new paint color, my guess is if you paint a Viper, the whole car goes to that color.

This is one area that I really wish GT would have made better, I mean give us more paint options, like adding stripes, or for specific cars multi color paint, I mean its not that tough to add to the game, what the heck else have they been doing for 5 years? they couldn't have 1 programmer work on better car painting, hahaha
 
I don't think they do - I re-painted my Shelby GT350R (which was white with blue stripes) with a blue colour and the whole car became blue.
 
please tell me what happens when you do change it I want to know for when I get my viper.
BTW you can do anything in GT auto and put you car back to original form if you don't leave GT auto and quit the game.(gets around the saving points)
 
this is a noob question, but is there a way to paint without using the paint chips... OR... is there a way to accumulate paint chips other than via buying cars???

major reason i ask is because, even with all my paint chips, there is no way to exactly match the paint on the car with the paint on the wheels (just an idea) and so on. it seems like you should be able to get a basic color scheme done just by purchasing it, instead of using the specialty paint chips.
 
Yes, if you have two User Accounts with a GT5 save on both. Add your second User Account to you friends list and gift the car to it. Switch to this user and you receive the car and a paint chip. Gift the car back and when you switch back to you original User Account, you get the car back and another paint chips as well. You will then have a paint chip on both accounts. Repeat as needed.

Agreed, I mean c'mon, AT LEAST give us a preview of the color on the body/wheels themselves, before we use the single paint chip we've got in that color, or maybe give us more than one chip per vehicle? Oh well, I'll just keep hoping there's an improvement down the road with that too..

great idea TT. tks. im definitely gonna give this a go.

i still wish there was another way to get a basic paint job done.
