I'm completely stuck with Nurburgring and Suzuka on the Vettel challenge so I'm going to get some help from a friend who's managed to do it. The problem is he has the Chromeline and Stealth cars on his account. I've got my save backed up to USB, we're going to create a new user on his ps3 then log in with my details and transfer the save over from the USB.

I created a new account a few days back to obtain a 1967 birthday ticket and discovered that as soon as I logged on for the first time on the new account it added the XJ13 chromeline I got through the facebook app on my origianl account to the garage of the new one. Does this mean that when I log into my game on my mates PS3 it will add the chromeline and stealth cars he has to my garage? I'm concerned that if it did my save would then be corrupt when I loaded it up on my own ps3 as I dont have those cars.

Does anyone know if this would be a problem or would it be ok because its not a new profile that being started? Any help on this would be greatly appreciated as I really dont want to waste time passing the Vettel challenge time trials only to find out I can no longer play with my save on my own console. Are the DLC cars saved in the save data or in the game data?

Apologies for the long-winded way of asking but I wanted to make sure I explained it as best as I could.

You can't put an existing GT5 save from your PSN on another PSN, as I understand.

only way is to take your ps3 to you're friends house. you cannot log into your psn or transfer your save on another ps3.

edit: i stand corrected hehe

As log as you sign into your PSN account on his PS3 you can take your save on a USB with you. I've done it.

👍 Just not on a different PSN, OP.

Your file won't be corrupted, but it could be that you get an error message (can't find rights information blablabla) each time when you load your savefile. Happened on my PS3.

OK thanks guys, hope you're right GSD. I will be using my own PSN account but on his PS3. I understand this is possible if I create a new user on his PS3 and then log in to psn with my details then transfer my save over from my USB pen.

You might want to save the back up from your flash drive to your PC, just in case that something goes wrong with your save at least you would be able to reset to where you stopped.

I have a friend visiting in September who will want to use his game save so interesting to see how this pans out.
Surely if you do a game save, log out and remove your usb/removable media, then get your friend to login to his psn account and then load from his usb it should be good to go?

Quick tip: Turn traction control to OFF and practice going through trial and error with each turn.

If you are just having trouble with the principles of driving an F1 car, try the FGT championship since it is practically the same thing, only it is 120 laps of practice.

The problem isn't meeting the time for bronze, it is not making a mistake.

^ This applies to DS3/Sixaxis, not sure on the difficulty with a steering wheel but I assume it is a little easier.

I've already bronzed all 3, in fact I got gold (barely) on Monza and I'm .038 off silver at Nurburgring but after 18 hours of trying I can't get any closer and I've had enough of trying. I hate the X2010 and once we finish the last 2 challenges I'll never have to use it ever again. I like the F1 cars, the Ferraris can be a bit twitchy but I love the FGT even if its not as good as it was in GT4, nearly got sub 5 mins on the 'ring a couple of times with it in GT4, but anyway I'm going off-topic. Thanks for the help guys.

This is definately something you need to know as well. Your save is exclusive to your PSN Profile, and cannot be used for someone else's PSN. It can, however, be used on any console with your PSN on it.
1. Copy your save onto a USB
2. Log into your PSN on whatever console it may be
3. Plug in USB and copy save while logged into your profile
4. Enjoy:cheers:

If this doesn't work, then at least you have a copy of your save as backup...

*Be sure to do the steps again to your console, as you'll start off wherever you were when you last played on that console.

When you create your account on your friends PS3 and then log into GT5 (using your save) you will receive all the DLC cars onto your save. They will, however, disappear when you take the save back to your own PS3.

In my experience going back and forth between PS3's this way there has been NO bad effect on my saves.

There is actually a good way to farm unlimited horns/mattes using this set-up, but it is time consuming.

I can explain if anyone needs to know...

That's exactly the way I was going to do it machate-man, glad to know it will definitely work. Thanks for answering the other part of my question slower than bob, again its good to know that it wont corrupt my save.
