I was wondering, do all racing tires reach the same grip once at optimal temp? Or are the soft ones always going to be more grippier then the medium ones.

Just like the game says, Soft tires are more gripper than the medium & hard tires, but they lack in durability a lot.

Soft has the best grip always and, due to a programming error(?), also (still...until PD fixes it) last just as long as hard or medium tires. Try it out in an endurance race ;). They also have the best grip in wet conditions. (still). No need to use rain tires or intermediate tires (yet).
In a test I did you gain about 1.3 seconds per 1 minute for each softer tire. :)

Softs are certainly the fastest.

Some people seem to have the opinion that softs last as long as hards. That hasnt been my experience. I don't use assists and im quite an aggressive driver who often tries to find the limit of a car (sometimes overstepping that limit:sly:) A bit of a tire destroyer you could say.
My point is with soft tires if you drive like a nutcase you can wear them out so quickly. Hards cant be worn out so quickly. If driven conservatively the soft tires can be made to last almost as long as hard tires.
