I'm taking part in a GT500 online championship, with HP limited do 503 and 1100kg as the weight limit.

My car (Nissan Calsonic Impul GT-R '08) is fully tuned with all extra parts and 714hp. To enter the series, I've used the power limiter to keep it at the mandatory 503hp.

Next race is at Nurburgring GP/F and I'm having problems with my setup. My car is quick, but I'm suffering from excessive tire wear - racing softs last for only 5 laps.

I was searching online and read in another forum that, If you are limiting your GT500 car's HP, then you shouldn't use Turbo Stage 3 because it would increase tire wear due to excessive wheelspin.
The recommendation in the forum was that you should use turbo stage 2 for most tracks so you could change gears in lower revs, reducing tire wear and increasing fuel economy. They say that the only tracks where you should go for the Stage 3 turbo are Le Mans and Monza because of the high speed characteristics on both circuits.

Is this a valid information? Does using stage 2 turbo really decrease tire wear? I'm at work right now, but I'm very anxious to get home and test this theory...

Well, racing soft tyres run out almost stupidly quickly, especially with the faster stuff, so it's not that surprising that you're running out.

What us lot recommend is that you sacrifice some speed for some endurance. Lower brake balance settings (in the 1 to 4 range), and most importantly, drive smoothly.

As for the turbos, since power is limited and everyone is stuck with 503hp, you might want to eek out every advantage you can, so running the turbo with the most usable torque might help.

Go back to the other thread you made, check the first link I gave you, try the gearbox with whatever turbo setup it's running, it might help…

I'm driving very smoothly, but still have way too much wheelspin at corner exit. The strange thing is that it's happening only at the GP/F. In tracks like suzuka, fuji or Laguna Seca, I just blast out of the corners with minimal wheelspin and great traction...

The thing is, Suzuka/Fuji/Laguna Seca are all fast, flowy tracks and GP/F…really isn't in comparison. The fastest line seems to have had pebbles embedded into the tarmac at some places, which unsettles the car quite easily. I'm mainly talking about the corners after the first section, I don't remember their names though, but it just unsettles the car very easily.
